🌟 Employees of the Month – Blessing and Lucy! 🌟

A huge congratulations to our two Employees of the Month! 💙

Blessing, from our Adults team, has made an incredible difference to a service user’s quality of life. Through her encouragement and support, she helped them get outside in their wheelchair after they had not left their flat for several years. Blessing is hardworking, committed and a real credit to the team.

Lucy, from our Children’s team, has grown so much since starting her role as a Children’s Support Worker. Her confidence continues to develop, and she has proven herself to be a reliable and valued member of the team.

We are so proud of you both - very well deserved! 👏✨

A morning in the life of a Support Worker 💙

Support work looks different every single day - because every client is different.

Some mornings might start with encouragement to get up and ready for the day. Others might include personal care, supporting with breakfast, medication, keeping the home tidy, planning activities, going shopping or heading out into the community.

But at the heart of it all, it’s about much more than the tasks.

It’s about promoting independence, building confidence, supporting choice and helping someone live their day in a way that works for them.

Whether it’s a quiet morning at home or a trip out for lunch, our Support Workers make a real difference every single day.

And after a busy shift? Definitely time to put your feet up. ☕️

but doing all that is literally your love language.

This is basically our carers and support workers every single day.

Using their patience when things are stressful, their humour when someone needs cheering up, their calm head when plans go sideways, and their kindness in about 100 tiny ways that most people never even see.

Care and support work isn’t just “doing tasks” it’s thinking on your feet, adapting, reassuring, encouraging, and somehow still making someone smile while you’re at it.

So today’s little reminder: use one of your strengths.

Our first Summer Edition is now available, marking the start of a new quarterly publication designed to share useful information, sector updates, learning opportunities, wellbeing tips and best practice across our teams.

We know you’ve probably heard it a million times… BUT the heatwave is coming, and keeping cool is so important! ☀️

This is your reminder to look after yourself, whether you’re one of our amazing staff out and about in the community, or one of our lovely clients at home.

Please remember to:
💧 Drink plenty of water
🪟 Keep rooms as cool as possible
👒 Stay out of the direct sun where you can
🧴 Wear sun cream if you’re heading outside
🧊 Take breaks and don’t overdo it

Most importantly, check in on each other. A quick call, visit or reminder to have a drink can make such a difference.

🌟 Employees of the Month 🌟

A huge well done to Freya W and Michael O, our Employees of the Month.

They recently dealt with a really difficult situation after being stuck on the motorway for five hours with one of our children. Throughout it all, they stayed calm, worked together, and made sure the child felt safe and supported.

The parent even shared that the child was happy when they got home, which says everything about the care, patience and professionalism Freya and Michael showed.

Thank you both for going above and beyond. We’re so lucky to have you as part of the team 💙

In this heat, you have been non-stop - making sure you still get to our clients, keeping them safe, supported, and cared for, no matter how challenging the weather has been.

We promise you, your dedication, kindness, and resilience never go unnoticed. We are so grateful for everything you do, especially during difficult weeks like this one.
