🌞 The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year, when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. It is a sacred turning point on the Wheel of the Year, a time to honour the light within, celebrate how far you've come, and gather strength before the wheel begins its gentle turn towards the darker half of the year.

🌙 In circle we will take time to pause, honour, and celebrate as we gather in the warmth of the Summer Solstice. Together we will journey through three sacred phases:

🔥 **Reflection**
Elle will guide us through an intentional card pull, connecting with the energy of the Summer Solstice and the collective wisdom of the circle.

🌙 **Stillness**
Fiona will guide a nourishing meditation, creating a space to connect deeply with your inner light, the abundance of the season, and the wisdom of the Summer Solstice.

🌻 **Embodiment**
With thoughtful journalling prompts, Poppy will hold space for you to embody the wisdom that arises for you in the meditation. Using writing to reflect more deeply on your inner light.

🔥🌸 **Beltane Altar Reflections** 🌸🔥

This evening I created an altar for our Beltane reflection… a space to honour the turning of the wheel, the fire within, and the beauty of coming back into balance.

The altar was set facing north. At the northern point, I placed a piece of wood to represent earth… grounding, stability, and the foundation we build upon 🌿

In the east, I placed a magpie feather. This feather holds deep meaning for me. I found it in a small church in Cambridge, just after my mum passed. We always said she would come back to visit me as a magpie… so finding this when I did felt like a quiet hello from her 🖤✨
This feather represents air… but also memory, connection, and messages that move between worlds.

In the south, candles were lit to represent fire 🔥 the heart of Beltane. Passion, creation, life force energy… the spark that moves us forward.

In the west, a chalice of water 🌊 holding emotion, intuition, and the gentle flow of feeling.

Also at the northern point, I placed crystals to anchor that Beltane energy into the earth. Orange calcite, sunstone, moonstone, fire quartz… each one holding warmth, creativity, and that balance between sun and moon, action and intuition ✨

At the centre of the altar sat a maypole, made by myself, Poppy, and Fiona 🌸
A symbol of Beltane itself… of union, weaving, creation, and the coming together of energies to create something new.

At the top of the altar, three cards guided the energy of our space…

Archangel Zadkiel… bringing balance, compassion, and emotional healing 💜
Perpetua… the saint of authenticity, reminding us to stand fully in who we are, without shrinking or shaping ourselves for others 🌿
And the Full Moon in Libra… a message of balance, harmony, and a win win outcome unfolding ⚖️✨

This altar felt like a reminder…
to ground ourselves,
to honour what we carry,
to stay true to who we are,
and to trust in the balance that is finding us.

🌸 Traditionally celebrated on the 1st of May as May Day here in the UK, the true astrological midpoint of Beltane, when the sun reaches its peak between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, falls this year on the 5th of May.

🌿 Together, we will take time to rest, soften, and reflect as we move into the third spoke of the Wheel of the Year, celebrating the spark of new life and the quiet expansion of the season.

🌙 Within our circle, we will gently move through three sacred phases:

🔥 Reflection
Elle will guide an intentional card pull, drawing on the energies of Beltane and the collective energy of the circle.

🌺 Embodiment
With a thoughtful prompt, Poppy will lead a journalling practice, inviting deeper self-reflection and connection to the wisdom revealed.

🌙The May full moon, known as the Flower Moon, arrives as spring reaches its fullest expression. Life is blooming all around us, and this moon invites us to turn that same care and attention inward. It is a time to nurture what we are building in our lives, whether that is our relationships, our work, or the way we care for ourselves. The seeds have already been planted. Now we begin to tend to them with intention, so they can continue to grow and flourish.

🌙This full moon sits close to Beltane, celebrated on the first of May, a time traditionally linked with fertility, vitality, and the quiet promise of abundance. There is a natural alignment here, between the rhythms of the earth and the rhythms within us.

🏵The Flower Moon is also connected to Etain, a Celtic goddess often called the Shining One, a White Lady of the Fae. She is a figure of transformation and rebirth, associated with water, sunlight, apple blossom, and horses. Her presence is also reflected in butterflies and swans, symbols of the soul’s evolution and gentle becoming.

🔥Her story, told in The Wooing of Etain, is layered and complex. Much of it unfolds through those who seek to possess her, particularly Midhir of the Tuatha Dé Danann. Yet beyond the telling, what remains is her essence. She embodies grace, beauty, and the quiet strength of renewal.
Etain reminds us that beauty is not something separate from us. It is something we carry, something we reflect, and something we can choose to nurture. Through her, we are invited to notice the softness in the world around us, the small moments of joy, the way nature continues to offer abundance without force.

How we are preparing for Beltane in the last days of April 🌸🌱✨

🦋 Poppy ~ with a baby in tow, it can be challenging to find the time for elaborate rituals. I’ve been so drawn to spending time in nature (thank you, sunshine), so my preparation has been tuning into the land. Noticing the heightened colours, the dandelions, the bluebells and the trees unfurling their leaves again. Sometimes that simple act of noticing can be a really powerful anchor to just feel present with the seasonal shifts.

🔥 Elle ~ As Beltane arrives, so does creativity, and I’ve been able to lean into it by creating an altar for our Beltane circle (happening online on Tuesday, May 5th, if you’d like to join us!) Taking the time to think about the elements I’d like to include, how they work together, and how I want it to look and feel sparks that fire in me, and it's why I enjoy building altars so much. It gives me the space to slow down, focus, and build something with intention. The more I sit with it, the more that creative energy builds, and it’s a nice way to connect with the season without overcomplicating it. 🔥

🌼Fiona ~ Like Poppy, I too have been noticing the Dandelions and marvelling at how delightfully they bloom with the daylight and then draw their petals in as dusk falls. They show their beautiful colour for only a few short days - filling our fields and hedgerows with the most vibrant yellow. The transformation from flower to ‘clock’ takes only days, and before we know it, we are experiencing their next stage of expansion and growth as we witness the bountiful seeds floating on the breeze.🌬️ As Beltane approaches, I have found myself emulating the Dandelion, reaching out to rekindle dormant friendships, sending out messages, trusting that the seeds will land in fertile soil🌱and with nurture and care, I look forward to gathering in a glorious summer bouquet 💐
