Yesterday I tried something a little different and attended an Easter macramé workshop hosted by Cath from Studio 9 Ribble Valley 🧶🐣

I had a fab time! The photos show a little bit of my work in progress and the end result 🐰

There’s something really special about sitting down with a lengths of cord, learning knots, and slowly watching something take shape in your hands.

Crafting can be surprisingly powerful for our wellbeing.
When we’re making something with our hands, our minds naturally slow down. We focus on the rhythm of the knots, the texture of the cord, the next small step in the pattern.

That gentle focus gives our brains a break from the constant stream of thoughts, worries, and ‘to do’ lists that usually fill the day.

Wellbeing benefits of crafting:
✅ gives your brain a break from constant stream of thoughts
✅ brings about a sense of accomplishment
✅ builds your confidence and reminds you of your capabilities
✅ working with our hands is very grounding
✅ crafts pull you back into the present moment

Exciting news ☀️ those of you who have read March’s Newsletter might already know about TC Yoga CIC (Community Interest Company) and our first project funded by Hyndburn & Ribble Valley CVS & ICB.

Yoga has always been about ‘community’ for me. I always intended to be able to provide free/subsidised sessions for everyone & create nice things for local people to do together. TC Yoga CIC means that we can now apply for funding and grants.

There are 10 spaces left for ‘Mindful Movement’ starting in April (all info on image), if you or someone you know would like to try something new & connect with others in a space focussed on wellbeing, please send an email to: [email protected]

The sessions are for people living in Hyndburn or the Ribble Valley who are over 55. All equipment will be provided, including your own yoga mat to keep.
