As noted below regarding the recent IT issues NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have released the following statement

The Red Wing Practice would like to apologise to patients for the disruption and reduced level of service recently. Our IT systems have been significantly improved, and normal services will be starting from Monday 18th May. We have increased our capacity for GP appointments for the next few weeks to try and accommodate any patients who have struggled to be seen over this period. We are awaiting a statement from the Health Board regarding this issue.

We are aware that a text message sent yesterday morning regarding appointments was unfortunately was not received by several patients until late last night. We have investigated this further and discovered an error with our server which has subsequently been fixed. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

However this error only came to our attention after a post was made on a local Facebook group that used extremely abusive language about the practice and the staff that work here. We would like to remind patients that abusive behaviour, whether that is verbal or written is not tolerated and ongoing abuse of the practice and its staff can lead to a break down in our relationship and a removal from our practice list.

Again we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the server error.

If you or a family member are calling for a housecall we request that this is done before 10am. This allows for the housecalls to be appropriately triaged and distributed amongst our GP staff. If you feel you need a housecall please use our emergency line to make this request. We cannot guarantee that late housecalls (those calls made after 10am) can be seen the same day.

Housecalls are reserved for patients who are receiving palliative/end of life care or who are housebound and are unable to attend other appointments such as the dentist/blood appointments/vaccination appointments.

Since the start of this week (31/03/25) we have had 24 patients not attend their GP/ANP appointment. If you are unable to attend please contact the practice on 0141 531 6475 so that this appointment can be freed up for someone else.
