This week, we carried out a Dementia Friendly Environment Assessment in our Eye Centre.

The assessment brought together different perspectives, including lived experience, Alzheimer Scotland, and our nursing team, to look at how the ward supports people living with dementia.

This collaborative approach is important in shaping spaces that meet the needs of people living with dementia, reinforcing our commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

Our next community Carers Café will take place on Thursday 28 August, from 2.30pm – 4pm in the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel at NHS Golden Jubilee 💜

The Carers Café offers a relaxed, informal setting for people caring for someone living with dementia, as well as friends and family. Come along for a cuppa, a chat and peer support with others who understand what it is like to be a carer.

Nurses from across NHS Golden Jubilee came together yesterday for our first-ever Nursing Conference, celebrating innovation, excellence and the vital role nursing teams play in delivering outstanding patient care.

The Elevation and Transformation in Nursing Conference showcased examples of best practice from across the organisation, highlighting how nurses are driving improvements in care while maintaining a strong focus on compassionate, person-centred treatment for patients from across Scotland.

The event featured a keynote address from Scotland's Chief Nursing Officer, Professor Aisha Holloway, who shared her vision for the future of nursing and the profession's continuing impact on healthcare across Scotland.

A special moment during the conference also saw Chief Executive, Carolynne O'Connor, pay tribute to Director of Nursing, Anne Marie Cavanagh, in recognition of her more than 40 years of dedicated service to the NHS as she prepares for retirement.

Bringing colleagues together to share learning, celebrate achievements and inspire new ideas, the conference marked an important milestone for nursing at NHS Golden Jubilee and demonstrated the expertise, professionalism and commitment that continues to shape exceptional patient care.

Kindness helps create a workplace where everyone feels valued💙

Yesterday's Kindness Café gave colleagues the chance to take a break, connect with others and enjoy a few thoughtful pick-me-ups, including 'positive potatoes' and kindness books.

Hosted by members of our Culture Champions network, the event supported conversations about kindness, culture and the values that guide us at NHS Golden Jubilee.

Staff praised the café for making such a positive difference to their day.

A huge thank you to Cammy, Claire and Gary for organising the event and for the fantastic work they do to help bring our values to life every day.

Applications are now open for Cohort 14 of the National Perioperative Training Programme: Foundations of Perioperative Practice.

Designed for Band 5 registered nurses who are new to the perioperative environment, this fully funded 31-week programme provides accelerated education and training to build the knowledge, confidence and clinical skills needed to deliver safe and effective care across the perioperative pathway.

Delivered through a blend of online learning, simulation-based education and face-to-face workshops at the NHS Scotland Academy's Skills and Simulation Centre, the programme supports the development of Scotland's future perioperative workforce.
