RICHARDSON, Gordon Bruce, aged 68 years:

Please find funeral arrangements for the late Mr Gordon Richardson, who passed away on Monday 18th May 2026.

Gordon was born on 1st May 1958 to parents James and Madge Richardson. He was a familiar and much-loved figure throughout the Gorbals community. Many will remember him as the school crossing patroller on Ballater Street, where he greeted generations of local residents with a smile, a laugh, and his warm personality.

Many will remember him for his distinctive colour-coordinated gym outfits (whether dressed head-to-toe in yellow, purple, pink, blue, or another vibrant colour) Gordon always brought a smile to those around him.

He was a dedicated fitness enthusiast, and a regular face at Glasgow Club Gorbals and other Glasgow Club venues across the city. His commitment to training, fitness classes, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle was admired by many.

Sadly, after a sudden cancer diagnosis, Gordon was taken from us far too soon.
Gordon's positivity was infectious. He loved sharing a laugh, always focused on the good in life, and valued the simple routines that brought him happiness: his work, spending time with his younger brother Gary, and his daily visits to the gym. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Gary, and those nearest and dearest to Gordon would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support that has been received.

Funeral Arrangements:

Wednesday 3rd June:

The funeral cortege will depart from Gordon's home, Waddell Street, Glasgow G5 0YP, at 11:10am.

The route will travel along Ballater Street, passing the location where Gordon served as a crossing patroller, and will also pause briefly at Glasgow Club Gorbals, allowing friends and members of the community an opportunity to pay their respects.

The funeral service will take place at Linn Crematorium at 12:00 noon.

Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to join Gary for refreshments and to share memories of Gordon at The Old Ship Bank, beside Glasgow High Court.

Joseph Simeon
27 march 1939 - 15 may 2026
Aged 87 years

Joseph Simeon, known to all simply as Joe, passed away peacefully on 15 May 2026 at the age of 87. Born on 27 March 1939, Joe lived a life defined by hard work, resilience, family, and the simple pleasures that brought him happiness throughout the years.

Joe’s early years were spent in the areas of Burrow and Furnace before the family later settled within the Dundyvan and Townhead communities of Coatbridge. These close communities helped shape the man Joe would become, grounded, dependable, and always happiest among family, friends, and familiar faces. He was predeceased by his sisters Nancy, Isabella, who sadly passed away in infancy, Catherine, and Rosina, and is survived by his sister Helen, with whom he shared a lifelong bond and many treasured memories of their younger years together.

He attended Gartsherrie Primary before later moving on to Coatbridge High School, where he did well in all aspects of school life that were of most interest to him. Even from a young age, Joe possessed a practical mind and an independent streak, qualities that would stay with him throughout his life.

Joe dedicated much of his working life to driving, a profession that perfectly suited both his hardworking nature and his love of engines and machinery. He initially worked as a JCB driver before later becoming well known within the local taxi trade, driving for Fountain Taxis and eventually owning and operating Tartan Taxis himself. Joe took pride in his work and in building something of his own, becoming a familiar face to many over the years.

Joe met and fell in love with Margaret Middleton, and the couple later married and started a family together. Although they eventually separated, family always remained at the very heart of Joe’s life. He was a proud and devoted father to Danella, Lavina, Stephen, Andrea, and Joseph, who sadly passed away in infancy, a loss Joe carried in his heart throughout his life. In later years, Joe found love and companionship with Ann McHendry, and together they built a life centred around family and togetherness. Through this relationship, Joe became a caring and supportive stepfather to Stephen, Gary, and Lynn, warmly embracing them as part of the family.

As the years passed and the family circle continued to grow, Joe also welcomed Jake, John, Ellen, and Joe into the family with the same warmth and acceptance that defined his character. In more recent years, some of Joe’s happiest moments were spent in the role of grandad to Arlene, Stephen, Jordan, Darren, Nicole, Danielle, Taylor, Chloe, and Demi, while his 15 great grandchildren brought him immense pride and joy.

Outside of family life, Joe had many passions and interests that reflected his hands on nature and appreciation for life’s quieter pleasures. He had a lifelong love of cars and motorbikes and could often be found fixing them up, always happiest when working with his hands and bringing something back to life. He enjoyed sitting with his pipe, finding peace in those quiet moments, and loved spending time fishing, another pastime that allowed him to slow down and enjoy the world around him.

Joe will be remembered as a hardworking man with a strong spirit, someone who valued family above all else and who found happiness not in grand gestures, but in the ordinary moments shared with the people he loved. His presence, stories, humour, and wisdom will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service for Joe will take place on Thursday 28 May 2026 at Coats Funeral Home at 11:00 am, thereafter a committal ceremony will be held at Old Monkland Cemetery.

The family warmly invite all who knew and loved Joe to return with them thereafter to the Bank Social Club for a further opportunity to remember and celebrate his life.

Anne Geraldine Savage
15 November 1948 - 13 May 2026
Aged 77 Years

Anne Geraldine Savage, known with love and affection to all as Angie, passed away peacefully on 13 May 2026 at the age of 77. Born on 15 November 1948, Angie’s life was one centred around family, love, resilience, and the simple joys that brought happiness to those around her.

Raised in the Albion Street area of Coatbridge, Angie was brought up by her beloved gran, Sarah O’Brien, whose care and guidance helped shape the warm and devoted woman she would become. She shared a close bond with her sister Jean, who sadly predeceased her, and carried those family connections close to her heart throughout her life.

Angie attended St Patrick’s Primary and later St Patrick’s High School, where she embraced the aspects of school life that mattered most to her. Even from a young age, she possessed a caring nature, a sociable spirit, and a warmth that drew people towards her.

On 11 July 1970, Angie married Jim McGinty, and although the couple later separated, they remained united in the love and pride they shared for their daughters, Carol-Anne, Shona, Lisa, and Lynn. Family was always at the very centre of Angie’s world, and she devoted herself wholeheartedly to those she loved. Whether offering guidance, comfort, support, or simply being there when she was needed most, Angie’s presence brought reassurance, strength, and unconditional love to her family throughout the years.

Later in life, Angie met Charles Savage, and together they found happiness, companionship, and love. As their relationship blossomed, the couple married on 16 July 2004 at the Airdrie Registrars Office before celebrating at Drumpellier Golf Club. Through their marriage, Angie also became a caring and supportive stepmother to Amanda, Anthony, and Martin, embracing them warmly as part of the family circle.

Her family continued to grow over the years, and Angie was proud to welcome Gordon, Robert, Chris, Sarah and Ian into the family. In more recent years, her greatest joy came in her role as a grandmother to Hannah, Emma, Stephen, Jack, Robbie, Kirstyn, Lauryn, and Elle, and as a great grandmother to Lewis, Grace, Sophia, Sonny, Craig, and Orla. These younger generations brought immense happiness into Angie’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Angie found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed holidays to Benidorm, wider travels to Spain and Canada, and loved going out for meals with family and friends. At home, she enjoyed relaxing with some of her favourite television programmes, including Murder, She Wrote, Heartbeat, and Downton Abbey, while films such as Love Actuallyand Paddington always brought her particular enjoyment.

She also adored her tortoiseshell cat, Tullulah, whose wild and spirited personality became well known to all who visited. Much like Angie herself, Tullulah brought character, warmth, and a little unpredictability into the home.

Angie will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the pride she took in her family, and the warmth and kindness she showed to others throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the generations of family who carry her love forward.

A Celebration of Life Service for Angie will take place on Wednesday 27 May at Coats Funeral Home 11am, thereafter a committal ceremony will be held at Holytown Crematorium.

The family warmly invite all who knew and loved Angie to return with them thereafter to Brasserie 24 for a further opportunity to remember and celebrate her life.
