Exciting News! 🎉

Introducing Everyman's new Relaxed Screenings! 💙

We are thrilled to announce that Everyman are launching sensory-friendly, relaxed screenings designed to be inclusive and comfortable for everyone, including individuals with autism.

🎬 Kick-off Screenings: Toy Story 5 🤠🚀
📅 When: Sunday, June 28th & Monday, June 29th
⏰ Time: 09:00 AM sharp (No trailers, no adverts!)
🔁 Frequency: At least once a month moving forward!

We’ve made several adjustments to ensure a stress-free and magical cinema experience:

🍿 Inside the Screen:

Sensory-Friendly: Lower sound levels (4.5 or less) and house lights kept on low.

Freedom to Move: Guests are welcome to switch seats, bring their own food/drink, and use phones or sensory toys.

Proactive Care: Their team will do regular checks and provide warnings for any sudden changes, strobe lights, or loud scenes.

🏢 Around the Cinema:

Clear signage and a friendly team ready to guide you.

Hand-dryers in the bathrooms will be turned off (replaced with paper towels) to reduce loud noises.

Popcorn pre-popped before arrival to keep the foyer quiet and calm.

Celebrating our new Nature Play Practitioner ☀️🌳🌺🌻 😍

I’m so pleased to celebrate Islay Adams, a fellow paediatric OT in Essex, who has now completed my Play the Nature Way training 🎉

Islay has really taken the approach on board and is already planning how she can bring it into the forest school setting she works with which feels like such a great fit for this way of working

Play the Nature Way® is all about taking developmental sensory rich child led play outdoors into real environments where children can move explore regulate and develop through meaningful experience in nature, as well as brining more nature play indoors!

It’s rooted in the idea that some of the most powerful therapy doesn’t need to happen at a table or in a clinic room, and that when we connect to nature and the outdoors we connect to so many ways to develop our brains and bodies.

What I really enjoy seeing is when practitioners take the principles and start shaping them into their own practice straight away not just understanding the ideas but actually using them in real spaces with real children

I’m looking forward to seeing how Islay develops this within her forest school setting and the opportunities it will create for the children she works with 💖
