You can be coping, and still be struggling.

You can be getting up in the morning and going to work, looking after others, ticking things off your to-do list, but feeling overwhelmed inside

Sometimes people assume that because you're functioning, you shouldn't be finding things difficult.

If someone you cared about was feeling as tired, worn down or emotionally drained as you are, what would you say to them?

Would you tell them to try harder? Would you demand more from them?

Or would you encourage them to rest, seek support or be kinder to themselves?

Often, the compassion we offer others is the very thing we struggle to offer ourselves.

Sometimes the people who seem to be coping the best are carrying the heaviest load.

Many of us learn to mask our struggles.

-We smile when we're overwhelmed.
-We say "I'm fine" when we're not.
-We keep going when we're exhausted.
-We minimise our feelings because we don't want to burden others.

Masking can help us get through difficult situations, but over time it can become exhausting.

When we constantly hide our emotions, needs, or struggles, we may begin to feel disconnected from ourselves and from others. We can feel unseen, even when we're surrounded by people who care.

This doesn't mean there's anything wrong with masking. Often it develops as a way of protecting ourselves.

But it can be helpful to gently ask:

* Where do I feel able to be myself?
* Who do I feel safe being honest with?
* What am I carrying that others may not see?

Sometimes healing begins when we no longer feel we have to carry everything alone.

Honestly though…

As the weekend comes to an end, many people notice feelings of anxiety, pressure, or overwhelm starting to creep in.

If you’re feeling the Sunday scaries tonight, try not to spend all your energy worrying about the whole week ahead.

Focus on the next small step.

For now, maybe take a lesson from this pup:
💙 Rest.
💙 Breathe.
💙 Be where your feet are.

Tomorrow can wait until tomorrow.

Chronic illness isn’t always visible.

Many people spend a huge amount of energy masking what they’re experiencing—physically, emotionally, and mentally.

They might smile when they’re struggling, say they’re “fine” when they’re not, push through exhaustion, or apologise for needing support.

Over time, constantly hiding what you’re carrying can take a toll on your mental wellbeing.

If you live with chronic illness or chronic pain, know this:

💜 You don’t have to earn rest.
💜 You don’t have to minimise your experience.
💜 You don’t have to carry everything alone.

Your struggles are real, even when others can’t see them.
