Welcome to The Oaks Care Home's page. We are located in Colchester, Essex. The Oaks has a beautifully decorated and homely feel.

The Oaks care home in Colchester provides expert, warm, person-centred care for up to 61 older people who require dementia, nursing or residential support. There’s always a full diary of fun social events and activities, thanks to our dedicated activities co-ordinators. Mealtimes are carefully planned with delicious, fresh food cooked on-site and our fully trained, friendly team of carers and nurs

es are on hand 24/7, whenever needed. The home is spacious and with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, bedrooms are beautifully decorated, while the coffee lounge, cinema lounge and open-plan dining room offer the perfect place for you to relax or socialise in. We have the added benefit of being surrounded by large gardens and well-manicured lawns, which were created by award winning gardener, author and lecturer, Beth Chatto.

Residents, relatives and friends are all invited to join us! ❤️

🌸 Our New Relaxation & Activity Corner 🌸

We’re delighted to share our lovely new Relaxation & Activity Corner, created especially for all of our residents to enjoy. ❤️

It’s a welcoming little space where residents can spend time colouring, painting, completing crosswords, reading, playing games or simply relaxing.

The aim is to provide an inviting area that residents can access throughout the day, whether they fancy a quiet activity on their own or would like to spend some quality time doing something together with others or with members of our team.

We hope this new corner brings lots of creativity, enjoyment, conversation and happy moments to our home. 🧩📚🎨🖍️

We’re looking forward to seeing it enjoyed and filled with plenty of wonderful creations! 💕

We're still loving our weekly ! 📚 ❤️

Currently we're reading 'All Among the Barley', and enjoying every moment!

We take turns reading aloud so everyone can participate, be it by reading out, following along or just listening! 👂

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do here at The Oaks, making a community for everyone. 🤝

Another fantastic afternoon yesterday, thank you Andy Vocals!

A great time is always guaranteed when you step into the building 🎶

The proof is in the pudding - everyone singing and dancing together really brings us together as not just a care home, but a community!

🌞 A nice and sunny outing - right before the rain!

We popped along to our local, Crouch Street Bakes for a latte and a sweet treat ☕️ 🍰

As usual, we are so grateful to those wishing to come and help take family members out - the more the merrier in our opinion!

Hopefully the weather keeps on improving, as we don't intend to stop our weekly outings!
