A lovely open air Sunday service today 🤍

A huge thank you to Mark Payne and the Bocking Brass Band for making our morning so special. The music, atmosphere and sense of community made it a truly memorable service! 🪊🎷

Sunday service is so important to us as it gives us a place to come together, reflect, find peace and strengthen our faith… It reminds us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves and provides support, friendship and a sense of belonging. Through worship, prayer and fellowship, church helps us celebrate the good times, find comfort in difficult moments and share kindness and compassion with others 😊

Where has the sun gone…. ☀️

Erica, Peter and Lorna enjoyed a lovely walk in the sunshine yesterday and somehow accidentally ended up in Earls Colne Recreation Club for a glass of wine!

While soaking up the sunshine, Peter and Lorna were chatting about how much they’d love to go to a cheese and wine night 🧀🍷

🎉🎂 A MASSIVE Happy Birthday to our Harry, who has turned an incredible 105 years old! 🎂🎉

Harry has had a brilliant birthday celebration, with a whole weekend filled with family visits, laughter, and lots of cards and presents. ❤️

One very special gift was a birthday card from the King 👑 Harry now has quite the collection of royal birthday cards!

What a remarkable milestone and a wonderful way to celebrate. Here’s to Harry 🥳

And the celebrations don’t stop there. Harry’s sister, June, will be turning 102 in August. What an extraordinary family! ❤️

☀️ Where has the sun gone? ☀️

We made the most of the beautiful sunshine last week, spending time in the garden enjoying dominoes, arts and crafts, and puzzles together 🌿🧩🎨

Victoria, Sue, and Layla were determined to win at dominoes, but with Mary in the game, they didn’t stand much of a chance! 🎲🏆

Pat and Betty were on a mission with their puzzle. Once those two get started, there’s no stopping them! 🧩💪

A wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, friendly competition, and great company 💛🌞

Yesterday we celebrated our beautiful Betty’s birthday 🥰
She started the day with a little pamper session at the hairdressers, enjoyed lunch with friends and spent the afternoon playing dominoes. In the evening, her family surprised her with a beautiful afternoon tea.
We loved decorating the patio for the occasion — how gorgeous does it look? Most importantly, we made Betty very happy 💜

A little throwback to the other day when we popped to Poplar Nurseries for a ride on the miniature railway 🚂
We stopped at the café for some delicious tea and cake, then picked up some beautiful flowers to plant in the big planters on the patio 🌸☕️
Simple little days like this are always the best 💜

With the weather being so beautifully hot, we had a lovely visit from Whippy Bros 🚐🍦
There were lots of smiles and happy memories shared as everyone enjoyed choosing their favourite ice creams in the sunshine. It was wonderful to see residents, staff and visitors all coming together and making the most of such a gorgeous day ☀️

🌸 Yesterday, we had the absolute honour of celebrating the life of our beautiful Eileen Rosemary Carr at Colne House 🌸

One of the most special parts of what we do is that, the people who live with us at colne house are not just residents… they are family! Through everyday moments, laughter, stories, cups of tea and caring for them through every stage of life, they leave footprints on all of our hearts forever… 🤍

When Sam asked if we would host her Mum’s Celebration of Life here at the home, it was an immediate yes. To be trusted with something so personal and meaningful meant more than words can say. 🥹

Yesterday was emotional, but also so full of love, warmth and beautiful memories. Seeing everyone come together to honour Eileen was truly special, and we feel incredibly grateful to have been part of it 💚

Here’s to our Eileen;
Please raise a glass or a cuppa tea ☕ for our lovely Eileen 💚✨
