Located in the centre of Colchester, Essex, this comfortable, purpose-built home is conveniently situated for travel and local amenities. Residents and visitors are able to enjoy many local attractions as part of the home's exciting activities programme. At

the heart of the care Tall Trees provides is a deep understanding of the individual, so they get to know each resident well to plan activities and experiences that enable them to live a fulfilling life. All colleagues have received advanced dementia training, which enables them to experience first-hand what it may be like to live with dementia.

Our residents enjoyed another fantastic seated sports session with Rise Life - Essex, taking part in fun and easy-to-follow activities including balloon games, seated hockey and a variety of ball games. 🎈⚽

There was plenty of movement, laughter and friendly competition, proving that staying active can be great fun too! ❤️

🍦😋 Ice Cream Making… with a Little Quality Control! 😋🍦

Our residents had a fantastic time getting hands-on with our latest ice cream making session! From mixing and preparing the ingredients to plenty of laughter along the way, everyone enjoyed being part of the fun.

And of course… no baking or making session is complete without the most important job — licking the bowl clean! 😂🥣 Apparently, we had a few very enthusiastic volunteers for quality control!

A fun-filled session with sticky fingers, happy faces and plenty of sweet memories. ❤️🍦

🌍🍽️ A Taste of Home at Tall Trees! ❤️

Last week, we came together for a very special ‘Taste of Home’ celebration – a day dedicated to celebrating the wonderful cultures, backgrounds and traditions that make our Tall Trees family so diverse. 🌎✨

Food has a beautiful way of bringing people together, and our menu took us on a little journey around the world! We enjoyed Jollof rice and chicken kebabs, representing flavours from Nigeria and India 🇳🇬🇮🇳, German hot dogs 🇩🇪, American-style burgers 🇺🇸 and, of course, the much-loved British classic fish and chips 🇬🇧. 🍔🌭🍗🐟🍟

Each dish represented a different culture within our community and gave our residents, colleagues and families an opportunity to come together, share food, have conversations and celebrate what makes each of us unique.
A huge and heartfelt thank you to all our colleagues and families who got involved, contributed to the day and joined us in celebrating. Your enthusiasm and support helped make it such a fun and memorable occasion. ❤️

🍹🍊 Thirsty Thursday – Mocktail Making Fun! 🍊🍹

There was plenty of excitement at Tall Trees as our residents enjoyed a refreshing Thirsty Thursday Mocktail Making Session! 🌞

Our residents got hands-on by helping to prepare the delicious mocktails, carefully cutting fresh fruit garnishes and adding the finishing touches to each colourful creation. It was wonderful to see everyone working together, sharing laughter and enjoying the creative process.

The fun didn't stop there—our staff also joined in, making it a truly enjoyable session filled with smiles, teamwork and great conversation. Activities like these are a fantastic way to encourage independence, social interaction and, of course, a refreshing treat for everyone to enjoy! 🍓🍋🍹

Cheers to making memories, one mocktail at a time! 🥂✨
