The Slow Revolution

The Slow Revolution Gorgeous woman-centred care to experience life at a deliberately healthy pace. Kinesiologist, Somatic Counsellor, Yin & Meditation Teacher. Was it a better time?

The Slow Revolution is the revolutionary practice of slowing down, living with mindfulness and presence, to accomplish more. As a woman who can remember a time of a world without the buzz of the internet and constant pings of mobile phones. I honestly don’t know, but I do believe our nervous systems and energy got more time and space to replenish and restore. The modern pace of life is quite frank

ly bonkers and it’s messing with our minds, bodies, hormones and takes us further away from our soul’s essence and ourselves. That’s why I created The Slow Revolution for you. It’s the best of my last 10 years worth of support and creations using therapeutic approaches to hold, support and guide your mind, body, hormones and soul back into alignment. Why? Because when we slow down, engage mindfulness, identify our triggers and learn to defuse them. We can show up in the world in the ways that are healthy, tend to the things that really matter, like our relationships, family and work. Are you ready to join the revolution? If so, then welcome, it's a pleasure to have you here. Tara x

Sometimes the biggest shift isn’t fixing everything.

It’s finally understanding what’s going on.

One of my clients recently described how my feedback helped her make sense of everything she was carrying:

✨ “You just nailed and described perfectly where I’m at.”

And then she said something I loved:

✨ “There’s a settling in my system… like, oh right, that’s what’s happening here.”

This is so much of what my work is about.

When you’ve been stressed, overwhelmed or running on empty for a while, it can become really difficult to see the wood for the trees.

You know you don’t feel quite right.

Your energy is off.
Your head is full.
Your nervous system feels jangly.
You might be tired but unable to properly switch off.

And often you’re trying to work out what the hell you actually need.

That’s where the Energy MOT comes in.

It’s a chance to stop, take stock and look at what’s happening across your mind, body and energy.

We look at where your energy is going, what might be keeping you stuck or depleted, and what support would actually help you.

So rather than adding another thing to your “I really should…” list, you leave with greater clarity, a calmer system and a way forward that feels manageable.

Sometimes being able to say,

“Ah. THAT’S what’s going on.”

is where things begin to change.

✨ If you’ve been feeling stressed, depleted, stuck or simply not quite yourself lately, my Energy MOT could be a really good place to start.

Check out the Energy MOT via the link in my bio.

A client sent me this message recently…

“Being attuned has been staying with me so nicely and I’ve just had this steady calmness around me and the whole family has been better.”

This is why I care so deeply about helping women regulate their nervous systems.

Because high stress isn’t just something you feel inside.

It shows up in how quickly you snap.

How much you overthink.

How easily you’re overwhelmed.

How little capacity you have for the people you love.

When your nervous system begins to feel safe again, things start to change.

✨ You stop reacting to every little thing.
✨ Your mind becomes quieter.
✨ You can breathe more deeply.
✨ You feel more present.
✨ You have more patience.
✨ Home feels calmer.
✨ The people around you feel the difference too.

Sometimes clients tell me they feel like a different person.

I don’t think they’ve become someone new.

I think they’re finally meeting the version of themselves that high stress had been hiding.

That’s the work ♥️

What would change in your life if calm became your normal instead of your exception?

Not just emotional.

Someone’s comment sits with you all day.

A small setback feels huge.

You replay conversations.

You lose confidence in decisions you would’ve made easily six months ago.

This isn’t a sign you’re failing.

It’s often a sign your nervous system has been carrying too much for too long.

Imagine what life would feel like if you had more space inside yourself again.

If this feels familiar, my special Summer Reset Sessions are now open.

Today has felt… discombobulated.

You know those days where nothing’s particularly wrong, but nothing quite clicks into place either?

I’m finding it hard to get into my work.

My finger still hurts.

There’s a lot happening emotionally behind the scenes at the moment. The kind of stuff that quietly takes up space in your nervous system, even when you’re trying to carry on as normal.

I could make today mean I’m procrastinating.

Or lazy.

Or not trying hard enough.

But I don’t think that’s what’s happening.

I think I’m human.

Some days we flow.

Some days we wobble.

Some days our body is simply asking us to acknowledge that it’s carrying more than we realise.

So today, instead of fighting myself, I’m choosing curiosity over criticism.

I’m doing what I can.

And trusting that tomorrow might feel different.

If today feels a little wonky for you too… you’re not the only one.

Can you relate to this today?

Following a period of high stress, I hadn’t realised quite how much delight had quietly disappeared from my life.

Not happiness.
Not gratitude.

Delight 🤩

The kind that makes you laugh out loud.
That catches you by surprise.
That makes your heart feel a little lighter.

Bear has brought that back.

Watching him throw himself into life with such enthusiasm, watching him make complete strangers smile, watching him discover who he gets to be now… it’s reminded me that delight isn’t frivolous.

It’s medicine.

When we’re living in survival mode, delight is often one of the first things to disappear.

And one of the last things we expect to return.

Maybe today, instead of asking yourself what’s wrong…

Ask yourself:

“What still delights me?”

You might be surprised by the answer.

A little reminder…

Life is far messier than Instagram would have us believe.

Behind every beautifully curated square is a real human being trying to navigate life in the best way they know how.

So this weekend, I invite you to stop trying to tidy yourself up.

Be gloriously human.

Cry if you need to.
Laugh until your belly aches.
Have the wobble.
Take the nap.
Dance in the kitchen.
Ask for a hug.
Take yourself outside.
Be quiet.
Be playful.

Your life doesn’t have to look good from the outside to be deeply meaningful on the inside.

There’s something incredibly freeing about dropping the performance and simply being.

Messy.
Beautiful.
Wonderfully, imperfectly… you.

And if no one else has given you permission lately, I will.

Go and live your real life.

It’s far more interesting than the edited version.

People often come to me saying,

“I’m just stressed.”

But stress is rarely just stress.

Underneath there can be shame.

Fear.

Pressure.

Grief.

Loneliness.

The feeling that you have to do it all on your own.

When those deeper layers are gently seen and supported, something shifts.

The stress doesn’t always need managing more.

Supported in the right way, sometimes it simply begins to dissolve.

One of the cruellest things about stress…

…is that after a while, you stop questioning the stress.

You start questioning yourself.

“Maybe I’m not cut out for this.”

“Why can’t I cope like everyone else?”

“What’s wrong with me?”

Stress quietly changes the story you tell yourself.

It convinces you that you are the problem.

More often than not…

You’re not.
