This week is Dementia Action Week, a week about raising awareness, showing understanding, and standing together with those living with dementia and their families.

We have some fantastic resources locally in our GP Link Workers, Alz Cafe, The Memory Lane Singers, HospiceCare (Dementia support), and as always, we are happy to help, support and signpost at Tweed Connections.

You can find out more about Dementia by visiting https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/

Today I had the pleasure of meeting up with Carly from Help at Home by Carly - Scottish Borders ❤️

We had such a lovely chat about our businesses, our shared values and how we can work collaboratively together to better support our community.

I truly believe it’s so important to spend time with like minded people within the industry. People who genuinely care, want to uplift one another and make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Although our businesses may differ slightly, we both share the same vision, to support people in the best way we can, with kindness, compassion and understanding.

Community over competition, always ✨

Join us to help raise awareness for Dementia Action Week ☕️

Our charity of the year, HospiceCare North Northumberland are hosting a Cup of Kindness in our cafe on Friday 22nd May from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Come along for tasty cake, delicious coffee, and a range of fundraising activities!

There will also be a short talk from Amy Holtom, our Dementia Care Nurse.

Why it matters: Nearly 1 million people in the UK are living with dementia, with many more impacted through family and friends. Greater awareness leads to earlier diagnosis, better support, and helps reduce isolation and stigma.

Taking part is a simple way to help build a more understanding and supportive community.

Tickets can be purchased: https://buytickets.at/hospicecarenorthnorthumberland/2190415

We hope to see you there.
