Try to express rather than impress.🄰

I heard something recently that stuck with me…

Expressing yourself tends to get more ā€œme too.ā€
Trying to impress tends to get more ā€œso what?ā€

And I think there’s something in that.

We spend so much time worrying about how we look to other people. Trying to appear successful. Happy. Confident. Like we’ve got our s**t together.

But the moments where we actually connect with someone!
They’re usually the moments when somebody stops and just says,

ā€œThis is where I’m at.ā€

And someone else quietly thinks…

ā€œMe too.ā€

Maybe we don’t need to be more impressive.

Maybe we just need to be more expressive.?!

A weekend spent adding more strings to my bow šŸ«¶šŸ¼.

I have of say, I am really looking forward to adding all what I was taught and apply it to help with my clients.

Thank you to The Sunshine Project | Accredited Coaching & Training for this course and helping me become aware of my own nervous system.
I’d highly recommend this for anyone who’s looking to improve themselves. This course isn’t just for counsellors.

Lately, I’ve been wondering if life is trying to tell me something.

Every time I feel like I’m getting close to finishing this degree, another setback appears.

Delays. Obstacles. Doubt.

There are days I genuinely ask myself,

ā€œIs this life’s way of telling me to stop?ā€

The frustrating part is… I don’t know.

I don’t know whether these challenges are meant to redirect me or whether they’re simply testing how badly I want what I’ve worked so hard for.

What I do know is this…

This journey has asked more of me than I ever expected.

It’s challenged my confidence, my resilience, and at times, even my belief in myself.

But maybe the question isn’t,

ā€œIs this the wrong path?ā€

Maybe it’s,

ā€œWho am I becoming because I refuse to quit?ā€

I don’t have the answer yet.

But tomorrow, I’ll get up and take another step.

Maybe that’s all any of us can do.

Has life ever made you question whether you were on the right path? I’d love to hear your story.

ā˜€ļøsunshine and wine.

From the outside, this looks like a perfect afternoon.

A cold drink.
Good weather.
A smile.
A break from life.

But here’s something I’ve learned, both personally and through working with people…

Sometimes we don’t drink to celebrate.
Sometimes we drink because we’re exhausted.
Because our minds won’t switch off.
Because it’s easier than sitting with what’s really going on.

I’m not here to tell anyone not to have a drink.

I’m here to remind you to ask yourself one simple question:

ā€œAm I enjoying this… or am I trying to escape something?ā€ Check in on yourself!

There’s a huge difference.

Your mental health doesn’t need perfection.
It needs honesty.

So enjoy the sunshine.
Have the laugh.
Spend time with people who make you feel safe.

But don’t let alcohol become the only place your mind feels at peace.

You deserve moments of calm that don’t have to come from the bottom of a glass.

If this resonates with you, know you’re not the only one. ā¤ļø

Today can bring up a lot of different emotions.

For somemen, today is spent carrying the weight of trying to be the father they never experienced themselves.

Whatever today means for you, your feelings are valid.

If you’re celebrating, I hope you take a moment to appreciate the memories.

If you’re struggling, please be gentle with yourself. You don’t force yourself to feel a certain way because the calendar says so.

Being a dad isn’t about being perfect.
It’s about showing up, learning, trying again, and loving the best way you know how.

To all the dads, stepdads, grandads, father figures, single dads, and the men quietly doing their best every day…

Happy Father’s Day
