Quiz and Words of the Week at Colwall Care Home

Our weekly Quiz and Words of the Week are becoming a firm favourite at Colwall Care Home, with residents getting involved in friendly competition and putting their knowledge and word skills to the test.

Last week, Peter managed to score a perfect 14/14 in the quiz, before going on to win Words of the Week with an impressive 78 words from the phrase ‘Rice Pudding’!

We were also delighted to see Carole getting involved, scoring 66 words and coming a very impressive second in Words of the Week.

Well done to everyone who takes part, it’s fantastic to see the enthusiasm growing each week!

A Taste of Local Beer at Colwall

We had a fantastic time celebrating International Beer Day at Colwall Care Home with Dave Spiller from local brewery, The Hop Shed.

Dave talked residents through the beer-making process and how The Hop Shed keeps things local, with their beers enjoyed across Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and the West Midlands.

Residents sampled three different beers and enjoyed learning more about a local brewery that is celebrating its 10th anniversary this October.

A big thank you to Dave for a fascinating and enjoyable afternoon. Cheers to local beer!

The Great Rotherwood Row-Off

Herefordshire or Shropshire – who will row their way to victory?

On Monday 10th August, residents and team members from Colwall Care Home and Roden Hall will go head-to-head in The Great Rotherwood Row-Off, taking on an incredible 10km rowing challenge to raise money for their chosen charities.

Representing Herefordshire, Colwall Care Home will be raising funds for Colwall Community Church while Roden Hall will be rowing for Hope House & Tŷ Gobaith Children's Hospices, supporting children with life-threatening conditions and their families.

Every metre rowed will help make a difference, and we'd love your support.

Target practice with plenty of smiles!

Residents had a fantastic time putting their hand-eye coordination to the test with a fun-filled afternoon of bean bag target games and hoopla over cones.

These enjoyable activities help to improve coordination, concentration and dexterity, while encouraging plenty of laughter and friendly competition. Well done to everyone who took part!

A Wonderful Afternoon of Relaxation at Colwall Care Home

Our recent Pamper Afternoon gave the ladies at Colwall Care Home the chance to relax, unwind and enjoy a little well-deserved self-care.

A huge thank you to Natalie from Nailed On Nature for the beautiful mini manicures, and to our Lifestyle Coordinator, Clare for the soothing hand massages and bubbly foot spa.

A special mention also goes to our wonderful resident, Hilary, who kindly volunteered her time to welcome our visitors and share what life at Colwall Care Home is all about.

With delicious cakes, hot drinks and a celebratory glass of Prosecco, it was an afternoon full of smiles, laughter and relaxation.

A Warm Welcome At Our Community Coffee Morning!

Residents at Colwall enjoyed another wonderful Community Coffee Morning, welcoming friends from Colwall Village for coffee, conversation and delicious homemade fudge cake.

It was also a pleasure to welcome Leon and Dave from TPG DisableAids who showcased a range of mobility and independent living products while offering helpful advice and answering questions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, we're already looking forward to the next one!
