What a lovely morning we’ve had today. Cynthia and Dawn went for a trip to Astbury Garden Centre where we looked all around at the flowers, the roses were Cynthia’s favourite. We then were trying out all the garden furniture before having a cup of tea, but the journey didn’t end there. We then went to Astbury Mere and had a walk all the way round, looking at all the wildlife, ducks and fishermen. What a treat especially when the sun came out 🌞🌞🌞🌞🦆🦆🦆🦆🌻🌼🌹💐⛲️🪴

A celebration took place over the weekend at Park Lane to mark lifelong Congleton residents David and Joan Boon’s Diamond 💎 Wedding Anniversary, joined by their two sons, staff and surprise visit from the Town Mayor Cllr Suzie Firkin.
Joan and David have two sons, James and Jason and are proud grandparents to Thomas and Aoife. Throughout their 60 years of marriage, family has remained at the heart of their lives.
Joan and David first met while working together at Aeriallite in Congleton and were married on the 11th June 1966 at St Stephen’s Church, followed by a reception at Mrs Brown’s on Park Lane. Their 2 week honeymoon took them through France and Spain before arriving in Paris, beginning a lifelong love of travelling together.
Professionally, David and Joan both enjoyed successful careers. David worked in distribution and marketing for several companies before establishing his own business, Joan also built a successful career as a legal secretary in local firms Charltons and Poole Alcock, as well as accounting work for a local builder.
During their 69years together, David and Joan have been active members of the Congleton community. They have supported a variety of local charities and community events, including the carnival and raft race. David served as chairman of Congleton Round Table and the Buglawton Primary PTA. Joan was an active member of the Ladies Circle while David was a member of the Inclosure Trust.
Sport, travel and music have always played an important role in the couples lives. David played and captained Congleton Rugby Club, while Joan enjoyed badminton and table tennis.
Travel was a passion for the couple including holidays to Europe, Hong Kong, Australia and the USA.
Over the years they enjoyed many nights out at the theatre and concerts, performances from Neil Diamond, Andre Rieu, the Glenn Miller Orchestra and ELO among their favourites.
To mark their remarkable milestone, David and Joan also received a signed card from the King and Queen, sending their best wishes. Their story is a wonderful example of a lifetime of love, companionship and shared adventures, proving that after 60 years together, love truly does conquer all.

We've had another great afternoon today, playing catch and throw, using a velcro catch plate and a tennis ball.🟠 The ladies that took part really enjoyed it, they even decided to try and catch using both their right hand🤚and then their left hand✋️, they all succeeded🥰.
