We ended on a high this afternoon, when we celebrated a Special Ladies Birthday. This morning, Pat received a delivery of a beautiful box of flowers💐 followed by a visit from her Daughter-in-Law, Mandy, this afternoon, who came with a gift bag full of goodies,🎁 which included a couple of puzzle books,📚, it's very rare that Pat hasnt got her head in a puzzle book😁.
The day was rounded of with Pat being presented with a lovely homemade Birthday Cake,🎂 made by our Chef, Dane. Family, residents and staff then sung "Happy Birthday", whilst Pat blew her candles out 🥰

Ooh, you can't beat a visit to your hair dresser. Dorothy went to the Salon and had her hair styled by her hair dresser, she looked a million dollars and like a new lady. She was clearly very pleased with the outcome and more than happy to pose for a couple of photos 🥰

We had a lovely fun morning today. Residents enjoyed seeing Matty from Macclesfield Community Sports Trust, he came to have a few different games using Balls ⚾️and upside down Frisbees🥏. The last game they were split into 2 teams..the Red Team and the Blue Team, and had a game of Connect 4. Liz was on the Red Team and sealed the game for them🥇👏.
It's always lovely when everyone joins in and has a friendly competition🥰

Cheryl received an 'Asda Voucher', for 'Going the extra mile' in her role.

It was a very Special Day today here at Parklane...Pam & Peter celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary. What an amazing achievement 🥂🍾❤️.
They enjoyed a lovely meal, cooked and served by Andrew our chef, in the Conservatory, they also shared a bottle of Red Wine.🍷🍷
They both looked so very happy🥰.

We held our annual Summer Garden Party on Saturday afternoon, which was a great success. The Mayor of Congleton, Suzy Firkin, joined us and had a chat to residents and their relatives, it was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves, the weather was definately on our side which was a bonus. There was a BBQ, & Drinks, Cake Stall and Candle Stall, Tombola, Raffle, Lucky Dip for the children and a DJ playing music. All monies raised, which was a grand total of just over £450, is to be used for residents funds, to go towards trips out etc.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us and made the afternoon extra special🥰

Keith enjoyed some one - to - one time with Jackie this afternoon. We went for a drive out to Redesmere to feed the ducks🦆, swans,🦢 Geese🪿 and greedy seagulls😂. Our trip out was made even better when we found the Ice Cream van🍦 was there..we had a Magnum, whilst sitting on a bench, chatting and watching the world go by, before heading back, taking the scenic route down country lanes via Gawsworth. It's always nice to get out into the fresh air and blow the cobwebs🕸 away🥰

A fantastic afternoon was had by all yesterday when 'Guil from 'Music Melodies' came to entertain our residents, we all, including the staff joined in and loved every minute. Guil asked everyone to pick what music they liked, which was so nice and added a personal touch. Some of the requests were, songs from Musicals, "The Deadwood Stage"...Calamity Jane, "Do-Re-Mi"...The Sound of Music, Tchaikovsky... Swan Lake, Sweet Caroline, Puppet on a String and many many more, we danced, sung, smiled and laughed for the whole 2 hours, it really was a super day🥰

We welcomed Ollie from 'Generation Fitness' this morning. Residents all had a fun time, whilst exercising, using different equipment⚾️🥊. They enjoyed taking part. They were all really good, especially Cynthia who packed a hard punch🥊, 😂, she used to be a Bell Ringer, which is where she gets her strength from. We can't wait until next week, when Ollie returns to meet some of our other residents.

What a lovely surprise we had today. We received a phone call from 'The Card Factory' to say that they had some cards that they would like to donate to us. Pauline & Jackie drove down to collect them from a lovely lady.
What a kind gesture, it is nice to see that local business's are so thoughtful.
I am sure we will put all the cards to good use.
