Watching the rising of the sun is something I ensure I do whilst on holiday. The breaking of a new day where you get the chance to start all over again with something new or a continuation, either way its always at your desire.

My thought is always of gratitude to the universe.

Thank you for waking me, fit, healthy and asymptomatic of crohns to another day full of opportunities and potential.

Enjoy a few moments of mindullness listening to the waves lap the beach, the birds sing their morning chorus all whilst the sun rises, use this to express your gratitude for the day.

When you understand that no two people see you in the same way, even your parents will have a different view of you, then you can also begin to see why what people think of you is non of your business.

We attach ourselves to people's opinion of us because we mistakenly believe it matters.....

It doesn't, EVERYONE has an opinion and that is just their perspective, that in turn is created by their values in life...

How many of you know a di****ad? I bet everyone has said yes.... here's some news for you, that person will undoubtedly have friends who think they're the bees knees, and that's simply because your values don't align with theirs so you see it's simply down to perspective...

Here's where it gets really interesting.... if you've not told that person "you're a di****ad" they don't know and it won't bother them at all because we only emotionally react to what we know. If you have told them and they don't value your opinion guess what... they still don't care, simply put its you that does the damage to your emotions by your reaction to a negativity...

So in short, learn not to concern yourself with people's opinions if on the whole you do your best to be a good person then remember...

You can please some of the people some of the time, all the people some of the time....never all the people all the time...

People often think taking a holiday means switching off from everything you've worked hard to build.

For me thats not really true, I switch off somethings but on the whole I still maintain my routine.

I'll still be up early, possibly watching the sunrise over the sea, journaling, expressing gratitude, exercising and certainly ill be taking time to plan the next six months. Basically I continue with the daily habits that got me where I am, they don't get left behind at the airport.

The real difference is my phone predominantly stays off, notifications are always off, I dictate my phone usage not the other way around the biggest one though is business takes a back seat for these few days I spend quality time with Louise, relax, recharge, breath in the gratitude and enjoy being present.

Nothing changes on my personal side I just do it with a sunnier view.

To be "a good man and have tried his best to make a difference" is all it want people to say when the day of recogning comes.

So to wake to a message like this, well.... I had to tell our lass to stop peeling those onions.

Truly humbled. 🙏

HOW TO LET GO OF THE PAST?
A WONDERFUL ANSWER BY A BUDDHIST MONK

A woman once asked an old Buddhist monk:

“How do I let go of my past?
The memories still hurt me.
The regrets still follow me.
No matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to move on.”

The old monk smiled gently and asked her:

“If you carried a heavy bag of stones on your back for many years...
what would happen?”

The woman replied,
“My body would become exhausted and weak.”

The monk nodded.

“Your mind works the same way.
Every regret, betrayal, heartbreak, guilt, and painful memory you refuse to release becomes another stone you continue to carry.”

The woman asked,
“But how do I stop carrying it?”

The monk picked up a glass of water and held it before her.

“If I hold this glass for one minute, it feels light.
If I hold it for one hour, it begins to hurt.
If I hold it all day, my arm becomes numb and useless.

The weight never changed.
Only the length of time I chose to hold it.”

Then he looked at her and said:

“Your past is much the same.
The pain may be real...
but much of your suffering comes from holding onto it long after the moment has passed.”

The woman lowered her head quietly.

“But I don't know how to let go,” she whispered.

The monk replied:

“You let go by accepting that the past cannot be changed.
By forgiving yourself for who you were when you knew less than you know today.
By understanding that pain often teaches lessons that comfort never could.
And by realising that you do not have to keep punishing yourself to prove that you have learned those lessons.”

Then he smiled and said:

“The past is a place of reference, not a place of residence.
Visit it only to learn...
never to live there forever.”

Sometimes healing is not about forgetting what happened.
It is about putting down the weight you were never meant to carry for the rest of your life.

Often the things we see in others that trigger us those things you dislike, are jealous of or put down are inner unresolved trauma from earlier in life.

Questioning why it has such a negative affect on you will reveal all, addressing these concerns will create a better life and understanding of one's self.

When we use gratitude and focus on what we already have in life because the universe mirrors your frequency you get even more things in return to be grateful for.

And I think to myself what a wonderful world, just how gifted I am to have all this right on my door step.

I have everything I need but not all I want, I want all that I have, I'm so grateful but I seek to grow just a little everyday this helps maintain a fascination for every day and keeps me motivated and inspired.
