We started our morning with a lovely catch-up, giving everyone the opportunity to chat and see how we were all doing. We then enjoyed a variety of activities, including knitting and some puzzles.

Later in the morning, we took a gentle walk to the local antique shop. Although the shop was closed, we enjoyed looking through the windows and taking a little time to see what was on display.

When we returned, everyone got involved in a range of creative activities. We worked on Poke Art flower bouquets, enjoyed drawing on canvases, coloured in some beautiful flower pictures and continued with our puzzles.
After lunch, we carried on with our arts and crafts projects, with everyone enjoying the opportunity to be creative and work at their own pace.

To finish the day, a couple of us headed out to check on the allotment and see how everything was growing.

🌳 Our morning walk took us out into the fresh air, where we found the perfect spot to hang up our new bird house. Along the way, we also collected some beautiful leaves ready to use in our autumn crafts when we returned 🍂🐦

After a lovely lunch, we headed over to the allotment and spent some time enjoying the outdoors, seeing what was growing and making the most of our time together. 🌱

We also enjoyed our Question Time – “Have You Ever…?” 💭❤️ This led to some wonderful conversations and memories. We loved hearing about where everyone first met their partners, the different places people have visited around the world, and even memories of washing mangles!

A big thank you to Charlie for our delicious homemade coffee and walnut cake everyone loved it!

We started the day with a lovely morning walk, enjoying some fresh air and gentle exercise before returning to the barn.

We then spent some time talking about the 9/11 attacks on Twin Towers, remembering the events of 25 years ago. This led to some meaningful conversations and reminiscence. We followed this with a creative activity, colouring pictures of the American flag and firefighters.

After lunch, we enjoyed a relaxed and friendly chat about our first jobs and favourite holiday destinations. Everyone had the opportunity to share their memories and experiences, which created some lovely conversations and plenty of smiles.

To finish the day, we played our balloon game, which was enjoyed by everyone and brought lots of laughter and fun to the afternoon.

Today we started our morning with a refreshing walk, giving us the opportunity to get some fresh air and enjoy a little exercise.
Afterwards, we spent some time being creative. We drew flowers, using a beautiful flower centrepiece as inspiration and copying the design.
Some of us also enjoyed playing card games, while others spent time working on puzzles. These activities provided plenty of opportunities for concentration, interaction and a bit of friendly fun.

After lunch, we had our “All About Me” session. We answered a variety of questions about ourselves, which led to some great conversations, interesting stories and lovely memories being shared. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get to know each other a little better and reminisce about different experiences.

The weather was much nicer, so we made the most of the sunshine and enjoyed a longer walk outdoors, getting some fresh air and enjoying the sunshine while it lasts. 🌷☀️

During our walk, we discovered that our bird box had fallen down! 🐦 We took it back and had a look inside. We were so pleased to find it full of moss, showing that some little birds had made a nest in it! 🪺💚 We carefully emptied it out and fixed the bird box back up, ready to put it back in its place.

After our walk, we treated ourselves to some more melted chocolate strawberries and marshmallows — we enjoyed them so much yesterday that we just had to have them again! 🍓🍫
We then spent some relaxing time enjoying puzzles and colouring, before sitting down together for a lovely lunch. 🧩🎨

After lunch, we had our hand therapy session, followed by some wordsearches and card games to keep our minds active.

We started our morning by choosing different questions and taking turns answering them together. It was wonderful to reminisce and travel back in time, sharing memories of our school days, favourite childhood sweets, and whether we preferred the seaside or the countryside. There were lots of smiles, stories and some lovely conversations along the way.

We then headed over to our arts and crafts area, where we had a deliciously fun activity — melting chocolate over strawberries and marshmallows! 🍓🍫 Needless to say, everyone thoroughly enjoyed this, and there were plenty of happy faces!

Afterwards, we settled down for some relaxing colouring. We had a lovely selection of pictures to choose from, including Elvis and Dolly, sports cars and animals. 🎨

After lunch, we sang happy birthday to one of our lovely ladies and enjoyed birthday cake and a cuppa! It was then time for a singalong and we continued with our question games, which everyone had enjoyed so much earlier in the day.

And although the rain came down outside, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits! ☔❤️

The rain didn’t stop this morning, so we stayed cosy indoors, enjoying a cuppa ☕ and having a good old chat together.
As it’s National Wildlife Day today 🦋🐦, we got creative with some lovely wildlife colouring pictures. We also had fun trying out our new garden aqua paints and enjoyed putting together our bird bath puzzle. 🎨🧩

After lunch, we treated ourselves to a slice of homemade apple cake 🍎🍰 — it was absolutely delicious!

Thankfully, the weather brightened up enough for us to head out for an afternoon walk. It was a little windy, but it was lovely to get some fresh air and enjoy being outdoors. 🌬️🌳

Back inside, it was time for some hand therapy, a spot of hairdressing, and, of course, a cheerful singalong to finish off the day. 🎶💇‍♀️👏
A busy and enjoyable day shared together. ❤️
Have a lovely weekend, everyone! 🌸🌞

We started our day with a lovely cuppa and crumpets, taking some time to relax, read the newspapers and enjoy a good chat together. ☕📰

We then enjoyed a delicious plate of fresh fruit before heading into our arts and crafts area. 🎨🍓

Everyone got involved and there was lots of creativity and enthusiasm! We enjoyed card making with stamps, trying out our new aqua painting, drawing and colouring. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying themselves. 💕🎨

After a tasty lunch, we finished the day with some gentle chair exercises. There were plenty of smiles, giggles and lots of laughter as we exercised together. 🪑💪😊

Today we did experience a few showers throughout the day but that didn’t stop the fun inside the barn……
We changed a few plans and ensured every moment was special.

We started by reading our 1939 news papers bringing back moments which of course brought plenty of conversation by all.
The knit and natter ladies were clicking away to get some more squares done( we are on our way to making a blanket for premature babies at Ipswich hospital ) will keep you up dated on our progress.

We got crafty by using stencils to make some wonderful art work with our initials,
Some completed puzzles and managed a walk in the courtyard before the rain came down again.

One gentleman repaired a plug replacing the fuse while sitting on the train seats with his favourite place on the screen Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿.

After lunch we enjoyed some gentle chair exercises bringing a lovely end to our day.

Questions I get asked so thought I would share my response it may help someone…………..

Why is it my loved one eats and drinks for you but at home I cannot get then to drink or eat much?

Understanding is my answer we are all different we observe first and Tailor needs by undertaking what works what doesn’t,

By setting the scene we say so preparing area of familiar objects we never say you have to drink more……..
We change it to cheers everyone good Health, which wakes up the automatic signals in our brains.

Please eat the food I’ve prepared …….. to much pressure to when already they have to much to remember just to eat……

Is this chair ok for you for some lunch?
So what we do is set the scene, again the correct low tone sounds in the background a little like spa day.

Food textures can be wrong or to complicated so may need finger foods to take the pressure away. (The part in pretty woman where she has so many folks which one is which)
So we eliminate the objects.

Colour - brighten the plate, such as with sandwiches we place red tomato on the side which draws the eye 👁️

Small plates or smaller amounts, little and often works for some you can always add.

For our ups and downseys as the brain tells the body to keep walking, keep counting, we place them with others middle di**le we call it.

This allows them to watch others enjoy the food set and listen to sounds and settle if it’s only for half hour it works.

With our dedicated staff all working the same this is how it works.

Hope this helps just one person understand common questions we get asked
