Spending last week in the Brecon Beacons/Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, gave me a powerful reminder of the grounding perspective nature can offer us. 🌿

Every day, I watched a family of young barn swallows nesting right in the eaves. They lived by a simple, comforting routine: waking early, hunting for insects across the hills all day, and returning home at the exact same time every evening. In a world that often feels unpredictable, watching their daily flow brought such a deep sense of security, reliability, and continuity.

Soon, these tiny birds will set off on an extraordinary journey, flying thousands of miles to Africa for the winter. Yet, they move through their life without anxiety or hesitation, trusting their instincts and the natural rhythm of the seasons.

It made me realise how much we can learn from nature's flow:

✔️Reliability over chaos: There is safety and comfort in steady, quiet routines.

✔️Trusting the journey: Preparation comes naturally when you focus on the present moment.

✔️Perspective: The world keeps turning, and nature always finds its rhythm.

Nature doesn’t hurry or overthink what lies ahead; it just shows up, trusts the process, and keeps moving forward. While it doesn't take away life's heavier challenges, taking a moment to step back and observe the steady rhythm of the natural world can truly help us feel a little more centered again. ✨

Of course, unlike nature, we can lose contact with our instincts. We get inhibited by overthinking, rumination, and managing the fallout from past events. We might know what we should be doing, but the hardest part is often finding the energy and motivation to actually do it.

If you are struggling to find your inner swallow right now and could use a little guidance navigating the noise, I am here to help. Drop me a message or get in touch to see how we can work together to help you find your flow again. 👇

As we navigate the tail end of summer and the heatwave outside, my new August window display is all about a moment to check in with ourselves. 🌿☀️

Just like a tree weathering a dry spell, we all need the right conditions to flourish. Sometimes, that means stepping back, nurturing our roots and giving ourselves grace through the heavier seasons.

If you’re walking past the Wellbeing Clinic this month, take a peek at my human care instructions. Remember, you don’t have to look fresh and flawless all year round to be growing beneath the surface.

🪴What are you doing or going to do to replenish your energy this week?

I’m thrilled to be returning as a co-facilitator for Murmuration Community Therapy supporting the delivery of the Oldbury Court Nurture Group this autumn. My experience in co-facilitating a previous course was deeply moving; witnessing the resilience of our participants and the power of this community proved to me just how vital a lifeline this space can be.

Just a note that this group is held in Bristol. While I know that is a distance for many, if you are able to travel, you would be so incredibly welcome to join us. If the distance is too much for now, please stay tuned, we are working on bringing these groups online in the near future!

We are delighted to announce our new Autumn Nurture Groups for SEND parents are now available to book.

We understand that parenting children whom the world sometimes struggles to understand or welcome is a hugely challenging path, and we know that these nurture groups can be a way to find strength, connection and joy along the way.

The Nurture Groups are intimate circles of SEND parents, meeting for 8 weeks to find belonging, support and space to process the big emotions. Through learning to relate more healthily to struggles, the emotional load becomes lighter and parents become more resilient, resourced and connected.

Book your place now, so you can have something beautiful, deep and nurturing to look forward to on your horizon. As a SEND parent carer, you couldn't deserve this more

Is menopause just about symptoms, or is it an invitation to reclaim your life? 🌿

There is a beautiful traditional proverb that describes this season as a time for a woman to come into her own: a "Second Spring."🌻

Yet, we often focus solely on the challenges. This is a journey of moving through transition not just as a struggle, but as a meaningful step toward your true self, cultivating the wisdom and self-kindness that only this stage of life can offer. 🌅

I have written this blog as the starting point for a new mindfulness programme I am currently developing to support those in menopause. It is a project deeply rooted in four distinct pillars: the latest insights from neuroscience, the clinical framework of my work as a counsellor, the raw honesty of my own personal experience, and the invaluable wisdom shared by my community of clients.

My goal is to create a space that moves beyond symptom management to something more holistic: a journey where we can explore the biological and emotional shifts of this season while finding clarity on what our life looks like next.

If this resonates with you and you would like to be kept updated as the programme takes shape, there is a button at the foot of the blog.

There is no commitment required; it is simply a way to stay connected as we navigate this transition together.

https://www.corshamcounselling.co.uk/blog/reframing-menopause-mindfulness

We often talk about menopause through the lens of symptoms. We discuss the biological shifts, the physical discomfort, and the immediate challenges that arrive without invitation. And while these experiences are entirely valid, there is a quieter, more profound conversation that often gets sidelined

Welcome to June Corsham! 🌦️😊 Have you ever felt like you’re just 'surviving' the week rather than actually living it?😬 We often think that feeling better requires a massive life change, but I’ve found it’s usually the micro-moments that can make all the difference.

I love the concept of because it isn't about forced positivity; it's about the gentle, intentional practice of noticing the good that is already there. Which one of these small actions might you try today to break that cycle of just 'getting through'?

However, I also know that sometimes, life feels heavy enough that 'finding the joy' on your own feels impossible. If you feel like you’re struggling to find those glimmers, please know you don't have to look alone. Let’s explore it together 🪷😌

Moving from Awareness to Action 💚

This week (11th–17th May) is Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme for 2026 is "Action."

While talking about mental health is a vital first step, real change happens when we take action; for ourselves, for our loved ones, and for our community. Sometimes that action is a small daily habit; sometimes it’s the courageous step of reaching out for professional support.

At Corsham Counselling, I’m here to help you navigate those steps. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just need a safe space to be heard, you don’t have to do it alone.
