Parkinson’s & Freezing Episodes Explained
Have you ever seen someone with Parkinson’s suddenly stop walking, as if their feet were stuck to the floor?
This is known as Freezing of Gait (FOG) — one of the most challenging symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. It can occur when starting to walk, turning, or moving through narrow spaces, increasing the risk of falls and affecting confidence.
The good news is that physiotherapy can help.
✔️ Gait training to improve walking patterns
✔️ Balance exercises to reduce fall risk
✔️ Auditory and visual cueing strategies to overcome freezing
✔️ Movement techniques to improve confidence and independence
At K 7 Physiotherapy, we use evidence-based rehabilitation approaches to support people living with Parkinson’s disease and help them stay active for longer.
💙 Better movement. Greater confidence. Improved quality of life.
