One of the reasons I got into nutrition in the first place was because I couldn’t ignore how many people around me were struggling with their health.

So many people are living with chronic symptoms, feeling unwell, and being told they’ll just have to manage it or stay on medication forever. While medication can be incredibly important and life changing when it’s needed. However for more chronic conditions I started to realise how much of an impact our everyday choices can have too 🌱

The more I learnt about nutrition, food and lifestyle, the more I realised how powerful these things can be in supporting the body.

I remember thinking… why isn’t everyone taught this?

Why don’t more people know how much their diet, gut health, stress, sleep and lifestyle can influence how they feel? 🌿

That’s what made me want to share the message and make nutrition feel simple, realistic and actually doable, not overwhelming or restrictive.

Something I’ve learnt even more since becoming a mum is that prioritising your own health isn’t selfish, it’s essential 💚

When you have a baby, it’s so easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list. But the truth is, if I’m not well, I can’t show up in the way I want to for my family 🤍

We often hear people say “I would die for my children”…

But what about choosing to live for them? 🌱

What about looking after your body, supporting your health, and giving yourself the best chance of being there, healthy and present, for all the moments still to come? ✨

Your health is not something to put off until later. It’s the foundation that allows you to enjoy and experience life with the people you love most 🫶

And that’s why I do what I do. To help people understand their bodies, feel empowered and make changes that support their health 🌿 🤍

✨ Zinc is one of the most important nutrients for healthy, glowing skin. ✨

Research suggests that some people with acne may have lower zinc levels than those without acne, and increasing zinc intake may help support inflammatory breakouts in certain individuals. 🌿

But acne is rarely caused by a single nutrient deficiency.

Hormones, blood sugar balance, gut health, stress, skincare products and overall nutrient status can all influence your skin. 🧬

Think of zinc as one piece of the puzzle rather than a magic fix. 🧩

If you’ve been struggling with stubborn acne and nobody has ever asked you about your digestion, this could be a bit of a lightbulb moment for you!

So many people spend years trying to fix their skin from the outside trying different cleansers, creams, supplements, and cutting out more and more foods. Yet the breakouts keep coming back.

What often gets overlooked is that acne isn’t always just a skin issue.

Your gut plays a huge role in inflammation, hormone balance and clearance, immune function, and how well you absorb the nutrients your skin needs to thrive 🙏

There’s even a name for this connection: the gut–skin axis. And the research behind it is genuinely fascinating.

In my latest blog post, I break down exactly how your gut can influence acne, the signs that your digestion could be contributing to your breakouts, and some simple ways to start supporting it.

Save this post if both your skin and your digestion have been giving you a hard time and you’ve never connected the two before 📌

And let me know in the comments if this resonates with you have you ever noticed your skin flaring when your gut feels off? I’d love to hear your experience 💬

Okay so I need to talk about the whole “cut dairy and your skin will clear up” thing 😅

Because it is not that simple. And honestly, cutting out loads of foods at once is one of the most common things I see people do that actually makes it harder to figure out what is going on with their skin.

The truth is certain foods can affect blood sugar, insulin and inflammation in ways that do show up on the skin for some people. But it is rarely just one food and it is not the same for everyone, which I think will be a relief for you to hear 🙏

So rather than guessing and restricting, there is actually a really simple way to start identifying your own personal triggers without overhauling your entire diet. - Link in bio to read the full article ✨

Still breaking out no matter what you try? 🙈

PCOS (or its new name, PMOS) could be the reason 🔬✨

So many women spend years trying different skincare products, prescription creams, supplements and restrictive diets 🧴🥗 without ever being told that their acne may be driven by what’s happening internally.

PCOS/PMOS can contribute to stubborn breakouts through hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance and inflammation 📈. And because these are internal drivers, no skincare routine alone can fully address the root cause.

If your acne is showing up alongside:

✨ Irregular periods
✨ Oily skin
✨ Excess hair growth
✨ Energy crashes or sugar cravings

…it may be time to look beyond your skincare routine ! 🫶🏻
My latest blog post explains:

💡 The signs to look out for
💡 How nutrition and lifestyle can support healthier skin from the inside out 🌿✨

As an absolute skincare girlie, I’ll always love a good serum or moisturiser but as a nutritionist I still stand by the fact that your diet is one of the most powerful tools for achieving clear, glowing, radiant skin. ✨

Don’t get me wrong, I love my skincare products, but healthy skin starts from within. What you eat can influence inflammation, hydration, collagen production, and your skin’s overall glow. 🍓

Nourish your skin from the inside out and let your skincare work alongside a strong nutritional foundation. 🤍

If you have hormonal acne, you have probably been told to cut things out.

Cut dairy. Cut sugar. Cut gluten. 🥛 🍫 🥖

But what if adding the right things in made more of a difference? 🫐 🐟 🥒

What you eat can directly influence your blood sugar, inflammation, gut health and how your body processes hormones. All of which show up on your skin. 🪞

In this post I am sharing the 5 areas I focus on with clients when hormonal acne is the main concern. Including two nutrients that come up again and again that most people are not getting enough of.

The full guide of which foods to eat for hormonal acne is on my blog. Link here https://vitaminbeth.com/foods-for-hormonal-acne/. 🔗 ✨🫶🏻

💡 Acne. Rosacea. Eczema. Premature ageing.

What if the answer isn’t just in your skincare routine?

Your skin hosts trillions of microorganisms that make up its microbiome, and it communicates directly with your gut microbiome every day.

When either ecosystem becomes disrupted, inflammation can increase, skin barrier function can weaken, and skin symptoms may appear.

That’s why glowing skin isn’t just about what you put on your skin it’s also about how you nourish your gut.

✨ Beautiful skin starts beneath the surface.

Most people spend years trying to fix acne from the outside. 🪞

Skincare products. Prescription creams. The pill. 💊

I did all of it. And for three years, nothing lasted. 🤷‍♀️

It was not until I started asking why my skin kept breaking out that things finally changed. 🔬

What I found surprised me. My acne was not really a skin problem. It was a signal. Gut health, hormones, inflammation, nutrients - all of it was playing a role I had never been told about.

Within a few weeks of addressing the root causes, my skin started to shift. Six months later it was clear.

This is my full story - what I tried, what did not work, and the approach that finally did.
