So our hearts probably already knew… our heads are only just catching up.
After one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make, we have decided that on 20th October 2026 (our 6th birthday) we will be saying goodbye to South Lake Leisure Centre as the home of Bells Nirvana.
This decision has not come lightly.
Bells Nirvana will always be one of the proudest achievements of our lives. What started as a small idea has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined. But there has come a point where sacrificing other things — especially family time — has become too much and, alongside certain restrictions around how we can continue to grow the business within the current setup, we feel we have taken this chapter as far as we can.
What a journey it has been.
From Ellie starting out alone, to building an incredible team, to Adam taking the huge leap of faith to leave his career and join the business full time — something we will both always be proud of.
Some of you already know the story… South Lake was never really in the plan. During lockdown Ellie kept getting tagged left, right and centre in posts about the Expression of Interest and one sunny April day thought, "F**k it," and submitted the application, never expecting anything to come from it.
Adam's response at the time was, "We'd be crazy not to at least try for the opportunity."
And the rest, as they say, is history.
From there we have gone on to win awards, compete in the European Championships, build an ever-growing portfolio of treatments, help therapists grow their own careers, and support local communities and charities along the way.
But the biggest part of all of this has been you.
Our clients. Many of whom have become genuine friends.
What an honour it has been to serve you.
Anyone who knows us knows we genuinely
care about every person who walks through our doors. When we ask how your family is, we truly want to know. When you tell us you've finally applied for that job because your current one is affecting your health, we quietly send every positive thought we can into the universe and wait for your next appointment hoping to hear the good news.
Thank you for trusting us to hold space for you through some of the hardest, happiest, heaviest and most transformative moments of your lives. That trust is something we will never take lightly.
After Ellie’s diagnosis, we honestly weren't sure what the future looked like or what the right decision was.
Then surgery — and the recovery afterwards
— gave us something we hadn't really had in a long time: space to think.
We tried to keep giving everything, all of us, to every part of life and business. But eventually we had to ask ourselves a difficult question…
How can we encourage all of you to slow down, protect your peace, look after your health and make time for what truly matters, if we aren't willing to live by those same values ourselves?
At the same time, we also had to be honest with ourselves about the future of the business. While South Lake gave us opportunities and memories we could never have imagined, there are certain restrictions within the current setup that have impacted our ability to continue growing and evolving
Bells Nirvana in the way we truly dream of.
And with all of those feelings combined came the realisation that it was time for this chapter to come to a close.
Ellie is constantly hearing, "The man therapist from South Lake is incredible."
Those words never fail to make us smile because they remind us that what we've built here has mattered.
We are incredibly proud of what we've built, the reputation we've earned and the community that has grown around it.
This decision is about alignment. About growth. About family. About health. And
about creating a future that allows us to continue evolving both ourselves and the business in a way that feels sustainable and true to who we are becoming.
But this is not the end of Bells Nirvana.
Bells Nirvana will continue its journey from our spiritual home at Devata Holistic Centre, where we'll continue doing what we love most — creating spaces for people to rest, heal, reconnect and simply be.
Before then, though, we'd love nothing more than to spend these final months celebrating everything this chapter has been.
