is celebrated on August 1 each year. It commemorates the signing of the Swiss Federal Charter in 1291, marking the foundation of the Swiss Confederation. The day is a public holiday in Switzerland and is celebrated with various festivities, including fireworks, bonfires, political speeches, and gatherings with friends and family.

Residents from Switzerland celebrated the day with friends and family and enjoyed the afternoon with singer Beth Sherbourne singing and listening to Swiss folk voices and Alpine yodel songs.

Today Resident's have been 'keeping the old brain going' by engaging in a group Quiz this morning which was very much enjoyed by both Resident's & Staff! During this, some other Resident's were relaxing and feeling pampered during their Manicures & Beauty Therapy Session!

During the afternoon, Resident's have been reading The Westland Garden Newspaper from Notcutts Garden Centre and also, re-planted a few of their hanging baskets to brighten up their home and picturesque surroundings!

We all look forward to watching the flowers bloom!🌹

Spending International Self Care Day in Style!
Resident's have spent the morning with Manicures, Beauty Therapy sessions & getting their hair done which Residents found very therapeutic and relaxing.

During the afternoon Residents went to Notcutts Garden Centre picking lovely flowers for their beautiful Garden!
Resident's were very content and said how much this had lifted their moods, satisfied them and helped them feel calm and relaxed.

A successful Self Care Day which was enjoyed by all!

🎂Happy 103rd Birthday to you, Reverend Herbert Steed!🥳
Today we have been celebrating an extraordinary Resident, Reverend Herbert Steed MBE as he celebrates his 103rd Birthday!🤩

We have been spending time looking back at Bert's time during the Second World War, a real hero at The Battle of Arnhem and his time as the Chaplin at the Brookwood Last Post.
We also took the time to commemorate his importance and dedicated service during his time with the Brookwood Last Post.

We as a home, are truly honoured, privileged and very proud to celebrate this special day with Mr Steed.

During the afternoon, Mr Steed spent time with his dear friends and loved ones who came in to celebrate his birthday with him!

This afternoon we welcomed Jo Patrick, an excellent Accordionist who was very much adored by Resident's, Relatives & Staff here at Knowle Park!

A beautiful memory was shared from a Relative, about how his Grandfather was once an Accordionist.
We were filled with so much joy and warmth seeing how engaged this Resident was and to see her smiling and enjoying the music so much. We love hearing stories about Resident's, their loved ones and the life's they have lived.

What a joyful afternoon we have had, we all look forward to seeing you back in the home again very soon!

This morning, Residents went into Knowle Park for Cranleigh & District Lions Club Classic Car Show Event!🚗

An outing that never fails to bring so much happiness and treasured memories flooding back! Residents thoroughly enjoyed their outing to Knowle Park today. Our Classic Car/Motorbike enthusiasts were very impressed with the collection of cars they saw today!

A huge thank you to Cranleigh Lions for putting on such a fantastic event as always!
