Once again the A377 is closed for repairs today (Wednesday 24th June) between the Bugford junction and Lapford Cross. If you are coming to Lapford from the Crediton direction, you will need to either come via Morchard Bishop / Eastington or take a diversion on the lanes to the south of the village and arrive via Kelland Hill (shown in yellow on the map). Please allow a few extra minutes to travel to your appointment. Visitors from the Barnstaple direction are not affected.

I have heard unconfirmed reports that the road should be open tomorrow, but there has been a lot of misinformation about this, so don't count on it! I will update as soon as I know more.

The A377 just to the south of Lapford (between Lapford Cross and Bugford turning) remains officially closed following a vehicle fire at the weekend. Access to Lapford from the Crediton direction is via a short diversion shown below via Kelland Hill or you can head in via Morchard Bishop and Eastington. Getting to Lapford from the north (Barnstaple direction) is not affected.

That said, some cars are going through the closed road. Apparently there is an area coned off on the north bound side so you need to cross onto the south side of the road to get past. The south bound direction has some damaged tarmac.

Whichever way you choose to get to Lapford, please take care and allow a few extra minutes to get to your appointment. I will update as soon as I know more.

Following a vehicle fire the A377 is currently (Sunday 21st @ 15.45) closed between the Bugford turn off and Kelland Hill awaiting resurfacing. Hopefully the road will be reopen again in time for clients tomorrow. If not and you are coming from Crediton direction you can access Lapford either by taking the short diversion shown below in orange, or come via Morchard Bishop / Eastington. If you are coming from Barnstaple direction then there is full access to Lapford as normal. I will update as soon as I hear more.

Clients driving to Lapford from Crediton direction, don’t be put off by the “road closed” signs, the A377 is closed after Lapford. For those visiting the clinic from the Barnstaple direction, there is a diversion in place via Chulmleigh and Chawleigh.
