We probably shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t look directly at the sun. Looking directly at the sun without the right protection can cause permanent damage to your eyesight – so you need to take care. Remember, your normal sunglasses may look great, but they won't cut it.

Roadworks on Joseph Locke Way – Access to Redlands Primary Care:

We would like to make patients aware of the third phase of highway improvement works being carried out by iCivils on Joseph Locke Way, Crediton.

The second phase will be complete as of 8am Monday 10th August, and the next phase of works will begin on Monday.

Phase 3
10th August - 9th October 2026
8:00am – 5:00pm
Engineering and resurfacing works will be carried out to the highway and footpaths. Temporary traffic management will be in place, including traffic lights and road closures on sections of Joseph Locke Way.

Accessing Redlands Primary Care
✅ The surgery and our car park will remain open as normal throughout the roadworks.

- Access to the surgery will be via the Tesco/Mole Avon mini-roundabout.
- Please allow extra time for your journey, particularly if you have an appointment.
- Follow any temporary traffic management signs and diversion routes in place.

Parking and Bus Access
To help patients access the surgery during the works:

- Full access to our car park is being maintained throughout, so you will still be able to park as usual.
- Local buses will be permitted to drop passengers off within the Tesco car park, reducing the walking distance from the temporary bus stops on the A377. Please note this access is subject to change dependant on the progress of the road works.

We are pleased to confirm that the refurbishment works at our Thorverton branch are in their final stages, and we look forward to reopening the surgery on Monday 20th July at 8:30am.

The improvements have included:

- A redesigned ground floor dispensary with two separate service hatches:

One for prescription collection and dispensing queries
One for reception and other administrative enquiries

- The creation of a larger ground floor consulting room for our nursing team, improving accessibility and providing more space for patients with mobility needs and those requiring disabled access

- Improvements to patient flow and privacy throughout the building

We would like to thank all our patients for their patience, support and understanding while these works were carried out. We look forward to welcoming patients back to Thorverton from 8:30am on Monday 20th July and are delighted to be able to offer services from our improved facilities.

Did you know that you can register as an unpaid carer with your GP surgery?

They can offer the following services*:
- Signposting to local services
- Offer flexible appointment times
- Provide home visits
- Offer annual health checks

When you register with us you will receive your own Carers ID card. This will help to identify you as an unpaid carer when you speak to your GP surgery.
