Young people urged to receive lifesaving MenB jab from 31 July

We are urging thousands of young people heading to university and further education colleges this autumn to book a potentially lifesaving free MenB vaccine when the programme begins this week.

Are you experiencing hair loss and looking for trusted advice, practical support and a chance to connect with others who understand?

Join us for Rooted in Confidence, an informative and supportive evening designed to empower people living with hair loss.

This event is organised by the Slieve Gullion DEA in conjunction with the MDT social work service within Mullaghbawn and Rathkeeland House GP surgeries.

Places are limited and booking is essential.

Don’t forget to stay safe in the sun this week!

Remember – UV rays are invisible but powerful. Even if there’s a breeze, your skin still needs protection.

• Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen (and reapply every 2 hours!)
• Wear a hat and sunglasses
• Seek shade during peak UV hours (11am – 3pm)
• Stay hydrated

Parents – is your child in Year 11 or Year 12 in school? Have they missed their school leavers booster in school recently? (Vaccines given are Diphtheria/ Tetanus/ Polio and Meningitis)

If so we are inviting parent and child to attend for catch up vaccination on any of these dates below:
16/6/26 in South Tyrone Hospital, Carland Road, Dungannon (Lecture Theatre C Floor)
19/6/26 in John Mitchell Place Clinic, Newry
22/6/26 in Brownlow Health Centre, Legahory Court, Craigavon, Health Education room.

All clinics will run 12 noon to 2pm – no appointment necessary – just drop in. You are welcome to attend any of these sessions, regardless of the area your child attends school in

Over exposure to UV rays from the sun can damage your skin and lead to skin cancer.

Regardless of your skin colour or tone, you need to protect your skin by using sunscreen when the UV index is 3 or more, even if it is cool or cloudy 🌥️

Applying sunscreen regularly will help protect your skin from harmful UV rays, reduce your risk of skin cancer and prevent premature aging.
