I believe in the power of Yoga to enable us to heal and flourish in our lives. I also believe we’re all completely unique, and it’s about finding what works for us. So as a teacher I want to empower you to develop your own Yoga practice, by giving options, challenges, sharing my wisdom & journey, & creating a supportive community of like minded Yogis.

You’ll find us in The School Studio at The Peredur Centre on the southern edge of East Grinstead. There’s free parking on site.

Classes are as follows:

🌟 Monday 6.30 to 7.30pm and Wednesday 6.30 to 7.30pm - Strength & Flexibility Flow
This is a take on a classic Vinyasa class with added creativity & exploration to build strength & flexibility.

🌟 Tuesday 6.30 to 7.30pm - Power Flow
Our strongest class. Bringing elements of practices such as Pilates, Primal Movement, & even some classic HIIT movements to our Yoga practice.

🌟 Thursday 6.30 to 7.30pm - Nurturing Flow
A slower flow class for a nurturing experience. A perfect reset for the body and mind.

🌟 Tuesday 7.45 to 8.45pm - Release & Reset
Releasing tension patterns in the body that hold us back, & a focus on improving postural alignment.

A little self massage for my Supraclavicular area and also getting into the very top of my Upper Trapezius.

This fascial ball release requires a little bit of prop balancing to create a space for the head. You can also do this against a door frame. But I created this brick version as it’s hard to find 12 door frames in one room when adding this popular release into a class!

It feels so yummy as you then gently sway the hanging arm around, & even take it round the lower back to Pin & Stretch.

This is the type of ball work we do in my Release & Reset class that I run every other Tuesday in East Grinstead.

If you’re interested in self fascial release work, then come along and join us. I teach the classes with the aim that people then pick what felt great & can do mini ball rolling sessions at home, to keep finding the releases that we all need.

We all get little ni**les or injuries from time to time. And sometimes, we do need a break from our Yoga practice, but more often than not, we just need self-permission to take it easier in class, to allow ourselves to adjust, & also a little bit of guidance.

So if you have an injury or ni**le in your body then please feel free to get in touch before class to let me know. I can then give you some modifications so you can carry on your Yoga practice supporting yourself whilst you heal, or also give you a few stretches or therapy ball releases to help you resolve your ni**le.
If in doubt, please ask, I’m always happy to help.

It’s a wrap on my latest Develop Your Yoga Self Practice Workshop, and I loved every minute.

Even more exciting is hearing Yogi’s take their first steps this week to do their own Self Practice at home.

A big Thank You to all of those who came & made the afternoon possible. And for enabling me to do what I love, & to share my passion to get more people getting on their mats more often.

We were taught algebra, probably had to read & study at least one Shakespeare play, set fire to various things on a Bunsen Burner, but we were most likely not taught how to breathe. Unless you count being told to breathe through your nose so you can close your mouth when eating…

Yet we take 20,000 to 22,000 breaths per day on average.

As a recovered asthmatic, I had a love hate relationship with breathing. At times almost fearful to notice my breath incase I triggered an asthma attack. Fearful of taking a big breath incase there was wheezing. Fearful I’d forget my inhaler & not be able to breathe.

But breath, through Yoga, has changed my relationship to breathing. It’s now a tool of Wellness, something I can tap into & completely switch my day around in just a few minutes. And also something I’ve been studying more about to learn & experience how to improve my breathing.

As I learn more about the breath, it’s hard not to un-know it. And I’m enjoying starting to tweak my language when teaching to help get more people starting to feel into a more nourishing breath. And I’m excited to share more as I develop my own skills in that simple (but not necessarily easy) task of breathing.
