π "It's like witchcraft."
A parent once said this to me after seeing the progress their son was making in Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration Sessions. They were joking (mostly π), but I knew exactly what they meant.
When a child who has struggled to engage, regulate, communicate or participate begins to thrive, it can seem almost magical.
But the secret isn't magic. It's understanding and support.
When we stop asking "What's wrong?" and start asking "What is this child telling us?" things begin to shift.
The child doesn't change into someone else. They gain the support, understanding and opportunities they need to be themselves.
So no, Occupational Therapy isn't witchcraft.....although sometimes it can look that way from the outside. πͺπ
