Iona Lawson Hypnotherapy - Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Iona Lawson Hypnotherapy - Solution Focused Hypnotherapy I'm a Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist working both online and face to face I graduated as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist from CPHT in Edinburgh.

Using a highly effective combination of positive psychotherapy alongside hypnotherapy (a wonderful relaxation technique), this talking therapy is combined with practical, well-researched strategies to help you make significant, positive changes in your life. During the Initial Consultation, I explain the science behind how the brain works so you will be able to understand how and why this process

is so effective. It's all about retraining the brain, helping people move from a negative thought pattern to a positive one. CPHT is considered as one of the UK’s leading Hypnotherapy Schools. I have both the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH) and the Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD) – only 20% of hypnotherapists have the HPD qualification. I'm a member of the Association of Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). I'm fully insured and DBS checked. All my sessions are currently online so it doesn't matter where you are in the world, you can take part from the comfort of your own home. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more. I love helping people to retrain their brain and make positive changes in their lives.

As the children head back to school in Scotland, many parents find themselves taking a deep breath after a busy summer.

For some, it's a chance to focus on themselves again.

For others, it's a time when anxiety, stress or feeling overwhelmed starts to surface.

Perhaps you've spent months putting everyone else's needs first.

Now might be the perfect opportunity to invest in your own wellbeing.

Hypnotherapy can help with:
🌿 Stress and anxiety
🌿 Confidence
🌿 Better sleep
🌿 Breaking unwanted habits
🌿 Finding balance again

You deserve support too.

.....becoming a completely different person.

It's about feeling more like yourself again.

Sometimes that means:
✨ Sleeping better.
✨ Feeling calmer.
✨ Saying yes to opportunities.
✨ Saying no without guilt.
✨ Smiling a little more often.

Every step forward matters, even the small ones.

Be proud of the progress you don't always notice.

If you're nodding along, you're not alone.

Your brain has simply got stuck in a pattern of expecting danger, even when you're safe.

The good news?

Patterns can change.

That's exactly what hypnotherapy helps with.

Imagine what life would feel like if your mind became your biggest supporter instead of your biggest critic.

I'd love to help you get there.

Message me for a free, no-obligation chat. I work both face to face in Cupar and online with clients from aged 10 upwards.

Sometimes success looks like:

• Sleeping through the night.
• Feeling calmer before an important meeting.
• Saying yes to something that once scared you.
• Feeling proud of yourself.

These moments may seem small, but together they create lasting change.

Celebrate your wins—no matter their size.

Every step counts.

You don't have to wait until you're falling apart before asking for help.

Many of the people I work with are still going to work, looking after their families and smiling on the outside.

But inside...
✨ They're overthinking.
✨ Feeling anxious.
✨ Struggling to sleep.
✨ Constantly waiting for the next thing to go wrong.

Just because you're coping doesn't mean you have to keep struggling.

Hypnotherapy can help you feel calmer, more in control and start enjoying life again.

If you've been wondering whether now is the right time, maybe this is your sign.

I offer face-to-face appointments in Cupar and online across the UK.

Send me a message if you'd like to find out more. I’m always happy to have a quick chat over the phone first. Then if you’re interested, I offer my Initial Consultation for free so that you can really decide if this is the right type of help for you.

If someone you cared about was struggling, would you tell them to "just get over it"?

Probably not.

You'd encourage them to seek support, be kind to themselves and take one step at a time.

So why not offer yourself that same compassion?

Asking for help isn't weakness.

It's courage.

You deserve the same kindness you give to everyone else.

Many of our daily thoughts, habits and behaviours happen automatically.

That's why changing habits through willpower alone can sometimes feel so difficult.

Hypnotherapy works by helping you access the subconscious mind, where many of these automatic patterns are stored.

Whether your goal is to reduce anxiety, improve confidence, stop unwanted habits or simply feel calmer, positive change becomes easier when you work with your mind rather than against it.

Small changes beneath the surface can have a big impact on everyday life.

This is one of the questions I'm asked most often—and the answer is no.

During hypnosis, you remain aware of what's happening around you. You won't say anything you don't want to, and you can't be made to do anything against your values or beliefs.

Hypnosis is simply a deeply relaxed, focused state where your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions. Think of it like becoming completely absorbed in a good book or film—you know what's happening around you, but your attention is focused.

My role is to guide you safely through the process while you remain in control every step of the way.

If you've been curious about hypnotherapy but worried about what it involves, I'd be happy to answer your questions.

There's no pressure—just a friendly conversation.

p.s there's also no pocket watch used during sessions!

Not everyone experiences stress as feeling overwhelmed or anxious.

Sometimes stress shows up in ways that seem completely unrelated:
• Struggling to switch off at night
• Waking up tired, even after a full night's sleep
• Feeling irritable over small things
• Forgetting things more often
• Constantly being "busy" but never feeling productive
• Clenching your jaw or holding tension in your shoulders
• Reaching for caffeine, sugar, or snacks to get through the day
• Feeling emotionally flat, disconnected, or unmotivated

Many people become so used to operating in a heightened state of stress that it starts to feel normal.

Your brain and body adapt, and you may not notice the impact until it begins affecting your sleep, health, relationships, confidence, or overall wellbeing.

The good news? Awareness is the first step.

When you understand how stress affects the brain, you can begin making small changes that help you feel calmer, think more clearly, and regain a sense of control.

So, ask yourself:
When was the last time you felt truly relaxed?

If you can't remember, it might be worth paying attention to what your mind and body have been trying to tell you.
