The final performance of 'Maiden Mother Mage' was last night at St Mary's Kirk in Haddington.

The writing & production by Rebecca Sharp of this dramatic reimagining of the 6th century Brittonic princess Thaney is truly a poetic work of art. It's not only the sheer amount of research that is evident in this project that shines through, it is the embodiment of Thaney through the careful selection of the cast (last night - Mhairi Watt, Taylor Dyson & Heather Cochrane), musician Alex South and the skilled use of Scottish language in performances at Culross, Glasgow and Haddington that make it so special.

Thaney's journey has now gone full circle as she was brought home to East Lothian last night, but her name will live on in the souls of everyone who has witnessed the retelling of her deeply moving story.

Standing tall, gently bending with the breeze.

The resilience of nature never ceases to amaze me, if only humanity would recognise and respect the sheer strength and beauty of it all.
