We wanted to share this article following the recent decision by Torfaen Council to refuse our change of use application for the proposed expansion of Fox Chiropractic Cwmbrân.

Firstly, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already commented, shared the article and shown their support. ❤️ It has been genuinely heartening to see how many people in the local community understand the need for accessible, local healthcare and have supported what we are trying to achieve.

We have dedicated a huge amount of time, energy and thought into planning this expansion of our existing Cwmbrân clinic. Our aim is to develop a wider health and wellbeing facility that can provide a range of healthcare services for the local community, building on the services we already offer here in Cwmbrân.

Naturally, we are disappointed by the decision, but we aren’t giving up. We intend to resubmit our application and will be taking the feedback on board, including looking further at the accessibility points raised and how we can address these through measures such as improved bike storage and other practical solutions.

We genuinely believe there is a need for more accessible healthcare provision in Cwmbrân, and we would love to hear what you think.

After three incredible years with Fox Chiropractic Clinic, it’s time for us to say goodbye to Will.

Will’s last day with us will be Friday 31st July. As he prepares to move back home to Derbyshire, we’re incredibly sad to see him go, but we’re also so proud of everything he has achieved during his time with us.

He has been an integral part of our team, bringing not only exceptional clinical care but also kindness, professionalism and genuine dedication to every patient he has treated. We’re so grateful to have had him as part of the Fox family, and we know he will be hugely missed by both the team and the many patients whose lives he’s helped over the past three years.

If you’d like to see Will before he leaves, there is still time to book an appointment with him this week. We’d love for him to have the chance to say goodbye to those he has cared for.

To all of Will’s patients, please don’t worry—you’ll continue to be in excellent hands. Our fantastic team will ensure your care continues seamlessly, and we’ll be here to support you every step of the way.

Over the past few weeks, Daf and Amy have been working closely alongside Will to ensure a smooth transition of care. Amy is a newly qualified chiropractor and a proud graduate of the University of South Wales. With previous experience working within the NHS, she brings a compassionate, patient-centred approach and is passionate about providing high-quality, evidence-based care.

Every treatment Amy provides is tailored to the individual. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing ongoing pain, or simply looking to move better, her goal is to help you feel confident, supported, and empowered throughout your journey.

Kaycee graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy from the University of Gloucester and is passionate about helping people recover from injury, reduce pain, and improve their physical performance. Whether you’re returning to sport, recovering from an injury, or simply looking to move more comfortably, her goal is to help you get back to doing what you love with confidence.

🏃‍♀️ Sport has always been a huge part of Kaycee’s life. Coming from a sport-driven family, she was destined to build a career helping others stay active. 👋 Meet Dafydd – Chiropractor at Fox Chiropractic Clinic

We’re excited to reintroduce Dafydd, one of our chiropractors, who is passionate about helping people move better, recover from pain, and get back to doing the things they love.

🏊‍♂️ Dafydd’s journey into chiropractic started through sport. Growing up, he competed nationally in swimming, specialising in long-distance and open water events. After an injury temporarily took him out of the pool, chiropractic played a key role in his recovery—and inspired him to pursue it as a career.

He went on to study at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic and has developed a hands-on, evidence-informed approach to helping people improve movement, reduce pain, and build long-term resilience.

Today, while swimming has taken more of a back seat, Dafydd still enjoys staying active through strength training, golf, and has previously worked as a paddleboard and kayaking instructor. His sporting background gives him a great understanding of the physical demands placed on the body, but his care isn’t just for athletes.

Not all migraines start in the head… 👀

Some migraines can actually originate from the neck — these are known as cervicogenic migraines or cervicogenic headaches.

Common signs may include:
🔹 Pain starting at the base of the skull
🔹 Neck stiffness or reduced movement
🔹 Pain radiating behind the eye or into the forehead
🔹 Headaches triggered by posture or neck movement
🔹 One-sided head pain

Poor posture, muscle tension, joint irritation, previous injuries, or long hours at a desk can all contribute.
