Walk of Hope 2023💛🖤💛

Well what can I say ...what a phenomenal morning we had .... weather not the best but turned out fine in time for walk starting ,great turn out old faces and so many new faces ...all there for the same cause ..to raise awareness into su***de deaths . I was supposed to thank everyone on Saturday morning but when I had mic in hand I just froze ( John's says how did that happen as normally can talk hind legs of a donkey )

I also want to thank everyone who helped make this walk possible Lorraine Jamieson who has listened to my ramblings for the past few months .... Elaine Bell (Bell💕) for printing our leaflets for letter drop...
Chris's House Volunteers who helped me with the sign ups my sister Lesley ,Midge Lorraine , Mary Anne and Jack Mitchell , Marshalls who all turned out today Amanda@ TwoGold Flowers for all your thoughtfulness and ideas, Kirstey in the memory tent , Joyce Marilyn and Andrea in the tea tent , Midge Marie and Karen in registration tent, my first aiders Stuart and Lorraine, Rickey the Electrician who without him we would've been totally in the dark Jamie Plimer Jamie Peters for getting the tents up in record time and everything else they did on the morning ... our lovely breakfast team Carol Anne and Logan ...but most importantly the woman behind it all ,Anne Rowan , this lady had a vision and has worked tirelessly never once deviating from that vision to bring it to fruition.... she is a tower of strength and I am so proud to know her ..take my hat off to you Annie.
Roll on 2024 when we can make this dream even bigger and bring about awareness to so many more people

If you prefer to register face-to-face rather than online for the 5k Walk of Hope, we will be in Dalkeith Morrison’s Friday & Saturday 10-2pm. Please pop along and have a chat with us! The Walk of Hope is at 4am next Saturday 6th May. It starts at Shawfair parknride, along from the Sheriffhall roundabout on the bypass.

Here is an ‘Advanced ‘ Reflective Practice for Ye Olde New Year Clear Oot ...But not for the Faint Hearted!🤨

Some people get awfy bogged down with clearing out drawers & cupboards; emptying bins & throwing out old clothes (claes) at this time of year.🤪

This is folly!A complete & utter waste of your valuable holiday minutes & hours , equivalent to trying to put an Elastoplast on a burst artery, if the objective is Energetic Flow .Yes , your sock collection will be colour co-ordinated; & you’ll fine the corkscrew more easily in the utensil drawer. But the temporary elation of order & control will only satisfy your OCD & your Perfectionist driven Ego for a day, or three.🤪

If you don’t clear out some of the Clutter in your Heart; if you don’t consciously release some of the prisoners in your inner dungeons & torture chambers - where you are still punishing them for offences of many moons ago ; if you don’t open the windows of your mind to fresh energy & flow , making space for new challenging attitudes ; the promise of trying new things ; expanding your viewpoints & horizons : then all the clear- oots in the world are a waste of space on an energetic level .

• Light a candle , for illumination ; enlightenment-ality .⚡️

•Who do you need to pardon ; forgive, release; unshackle ?Are there parts of YOURSELF locked up in a cell down in the bowels of your Inner Castle ,denied the light of day ?

•What wounds & hurts are you still nursing , possessively? What do you get out of that ?How does playing victim serve you ?

•How much payback do you receive from carefully nursing & nurturing resentment, & bathing in the waters of self -pity.It can be really addictive , soothing & comforting - can’t it ?!

•Where & with whom do the seeds of forgiveness need to be planted ; how can you prepare the ground within your inner landscape ?Dont forget you may need some Self-forgiveness too 😍

• What have you learned from all of the above ?

• Rest & digest .Smile a while!

If you haven’t sent cards this year, or forgotten someone’s gift.
If you don’t have matching pyjamas or a festive family photograph.
It’s ok.

If you can’t find the energy to be merry and bright,
or your tree isn’t even decorated yet.
That’s fine.

If you don’t feel like watching your favourite Christmas movies,
or honouring the traditions that you normally always do.
Don’t sweat it my friend.

This year has been hard.
Really hard.

If you can’t see a way to celebrating like you have in the past, don’t worry.
Just hang on in there, finding any joy you can in any little way.

Just make it through till next year.
One day at a time.

We need you.
