We have had quite a few trips out in this month from seaside trips, lunch at the community centre, the local pub, preston park and the south park its been an amazing month with some glorious weather 😀 😎

🏆 Stars of Social Care Awards 🏆

Tomorrow evening, everyone at Marton Care Homes will be proudly supporting Jemma Redhead, Wellbeing Lead at Grosvenor Park Care Home, as she attends The Stars of Social Care Awards 2026 as a finalist for The Amazing Activities Co-ordinator Award.

Being shortlisted for a national award is a fantastic achievement and recognition of the passion, creativity, and dedication that Jemma brings to her role every single day.

We are incredibly proud to see her hard work recognised on a national stage and are looking forward to celebrating alongside her tomorrow evening.

Good luck, Jemma! Whatever the outcome, you have already achieved something truly special, and we couldn't be prouder of everything you do for the residents of Grosvenor Park Care Home.

Bob and Ivor had a lovely trip out today to the Hopetown Museum for the classic car show. They both had a wonderful time taking a trip down memory lane and sharing stories while admiring all the beautiful vintage cars. 🚗✨

Trips like these are so important for residents living in care homes. Staying connected with the local community helps promote wellbeing, independence, social interaction, and joyful memories. Meaningful outings can spark conversations, encourage reminiscence, and bring so much happiness and enrichment to daily life.

VE Day 🇬🇧🇬🇧

We had an indoor street party to celebrate VE Day last Friday. Jemma, our Wellbeing Lead, had a discussion with the residents about what food they would have had when they celebrated VE Day.
Jemma then got to work to put together party food that enabled residents to take a trip down memory lane with spam and paste sandwiches, scones and of course a victoria sponge cake. We had a fabulous time recreating a street party in our corridors for our residents to enjoy.
