We are pleased to offer a Direct Payment Information online session through Durham County CouncilπŸ’¬

Direct payments are council funds paid directly to individuals for arranging their own social care, rather than receiving services directly from the council. They offer flexibility and control, allowing the hiring of personal assistants or agencies to meet assessed needs.

Support for managing these payments is available through dedicated, independent, or council-run support services.

Come along to our online Teams session to learn more. Book using the link below:

The Darlington Cares uniform shop is extending its opening hours for the next two weeks.

The shop, on the ground floor of Feethams car park (opposite the back of Boyes), collects donations of unwanted school uniform, has them professionally cleaned and then gives them away for free to anyone who needs them.

Since the unform shop started six years ago it has provided almost 50,000 items of school uniform to local families and saved more than 22 tonnes of uniform from landfill!

The shop is extending its hours this week and next (17 and 24 August) and will be open Monday-Friday 10am-4pm. The shop will be closed on Monday 31 August for the bank holiday.,

It is anticipated that the shop will be very busy in the run up to September so please be patient with the volunteers who run the shop. They can only hand out items that have been donated so may not have the uniform items you need.

If your child has had a growth spurt or is moving school - you can leave donations of unwanted uniform at:
β€’ Uniform Scheme Shop, Feethams - during opening hours
β€’ In a Spin Laundry Services, North Road – Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5:30pm, Saturday 8.30am - 12.30pm
β€’ Cockerton Club - donation bin outside the club
β€’ Eastbourne Park Community Hub - during opening hours
β€’ Firthmoor Community Centre – Monday - Friday 9am - 1pm
β€’ Dolphin Centre - during opening hours
β€’ Lingfield Point, The Beehive - during opening hours.

Wondering when your baby might arrive? πŸ‘ΆπŸ’™

The NHS Due Date Calculator can give you an estimated due date based on the first day of your last menstrual period πŸ“…

While only a small number of babies arrive exactly on their due date, knowing your estimated due date can help you plan for appointments, prepare for your baby's arrival and understand your pregnancy timeline better πŸ‘

Your due date may be adjusted later based on your dating scan, which usually takes place between 10 and 14 weeks of pregnancy 🩺

Remember, every pregnancy is different and babies can arrive before or after their estimated due date πŸ’«

If you think you may be pregnant or have questions about your pregnancy, speak to your midwife, GP or maternity team for support πŸ’™

Try the NHS Due Date Calculator here:
