Birth Trauma Awareness Week (13-19 July)

This year's theme, 'The Cost', shines a light on the impact birth trauma can have on relationships, careers, mental wellbeing, physical health and finances.

To mark the week, peer practitioners from Thrive, our psychological support service for birth trauma and loss, hosted a Talking Tea Trolley for staff. They shared practical support resources and encouraged conversations around the importance of 'filling your own cup' and prioritising self-care to better support others.

The team also shared feedback from Thrive service users, highlighting the positive difference that compassionate, professional support at Darent Valley Hospital has made to their maternity care experiences.
