Summer holidays are always full to bursting in our house — and I know we’re not alone.

The constant reprioritising takes up so much headspace… juggling work, kids, downtime, screen time, and trying to carve out a little bit of me-time too.

Food can so easily slip to the bottom of the list. That conveyor belt of three meals a day (plus snacks and ice creams!) can feel exhausting — especially in summer, when we want to feel our best and enjoy every moment.

But the basics really are enough.

Nourishing ourselves doesn’t have to add another thing to the to-do list. Simple meals, regular fuel, and looking after our bodies in small ways can support both mind and body.

This season is for making memories, not carrying a heavier mental load.

Happy summer hols to you all. Xx

Open the fridge.
Close it.
Open the fridge.
Close it.

Not because there’s no food.

Because you’ve run out of decisions.

After a day of thinking, planning, solving and juggling, deciding what to eat can feel impossible.

That’s decision fatigue.

And for so many women carrying the mental load, food becomes one more thing to figure out.

It shouldn’t be.

My Food Confidence Framework takes the guesswork out of meals, so you can stop overthinking and start eating.

DM me RELIEF (or comment RELIEF 👇) and I’ll send you a sneak peek.

Because food shouldn’t feel like another job

Being in your 40’s can feel like a diagnosis before you’ve even realised there’s a problem.

Then, almost perfectly timed, the remedies find their way into your feed.

Hormones boosters, collagen, mysterious green powders.

You’re vulnerable and hopeful in equal measure.

So you buy.

Will it work? Maybe. Maybe not.

It’s a subscription, so you give it six months. Then it renews and a year has passed.

But before you invested in another supplement, did you stop to question your baseline?

The thing you do three times a day.

Your meals.

Not whether they’re perfect. Whether they’re enough. Whether they’re nourishing you. Whether you’ve become so used to under-eating, overthinking, or eating on autopilot that you’ve forgotten what food is actually there to do.

You can’t supplement your way out of a weak foundation.

Real health isn’t built on powders and pills. It’s built on the ordinary things you can come back to every single day.

If you’ve fallen out of love with food, start there.

Not with restriction. Not with perfection.

With rebuilding trust in the meals that quietly shape your health, one plate at a time.

Because the biggest transformations rarely come from doing more.

They come from finally doing the basics, consistently.

Follow along because this is what I do.

Nutrition advice is delivered in numbers, but we eat food.

It’s not wrong to care or to want to put the science into practice. But it’s worth asking: who is actually benefiting?

Numbers and outcomes have become so tightly linked that we can’t help but optimise, using every tool we’re given along the way. It’s a business—and a trap—that many of us have fallen into.

We were never meant to eat like this. It’s creating overwhelm for so many women, not joy. It’s become another problem to solve.

Food has a purpose that extends far beyond the numbers…

My job is to help women restore the headspace that’s been stolen by tracking, optimising, and the quiet loss of trust in our own judgement.

Food is meant to be enjoyed, not feared. And our judgement can come from within if we are willing to take that permission back.

Follow for more—there’s plenty to come. 🤍

When every meal or snack becomes a negotiation, you’ve already lost.

The tiring daily dialogue that accompanies every meal becomes a problem in its own right.

We’ve been taught that discipline is the answer.

But for many, it just creates more problems to solve.

Headspace is the quiet casualty when we lose our food confidence.

When we feel the need to justify every choice.

When the decision tree has more branches than we have answers.

Food isn’t meant to be complicated.

It simply has to do its job.

PFF sits at the heart of the Food Confidence Framework.

It’s a simple checklist anyone can apply and does most of the decision-making for us.

Sit with it for a few days.

Rethinking food so you don’t have to, every single day.

The diet industry didn't give you discipline. It gave you a decision tree for every single meal.

Food and its consequences are talked about non-stop —
Is this healthy?
Enough protein?
Too many carbs?
Will I gain weight?
Should I even be eating this at 45?

Eating becomes another job to do when we already have enough on our literal plates.

You probably don't even notice you're doing it, but most of us are running four or five questions like this per meal. It's not health-consciousness — it's a full audit running where an instinct used to sit.

There's a name for this: decision fatigue. It's well documented, and it hits hardest for exactly the women I work with — the ones already making hundreds of decisions before lunch even happens.

Food was never supposed to be one more item on that list.

So what's the fix? It's not a smaller tree. It's not a tree at all.

Most solutions just prune the branches — fewer rules, gentler apps, simpler questions. But a smaller tree is still a tree. You're still standing at a fork, still judging, still auditing.

What actually works is a filter, not a fork.

The filter I use with my clients is PFF — Protein. Fibre. Fat. Not three more questions — three things to check for, once, without re-deciding from scratch every time you eat.

A decision tree asks you to evaluate. A filter asks you to check. One's a judgement. The other's a glance.

The goal was never to get better at following food rules. It's to need fewer of them.

Food was never meant to be an audit. It was meant to be a rhythm. That's the whole idea behind PFF — and the Food Confidence Framework.

If you want to read more, I've written this up properly on Substack — link in the comments. I also have a freebie summary of how PFF can work for you, so DM me if you'd like a copy.

Some days aren’t about fixing how you feel. They’re about noticing what held you up anyway.🤍

No one ever sat you down and told you to distrust food. It happened one tip, one “expert says” and one ‘failed’ attempt at a time.

Now eating seems to require an audit instead of an appetite, right?

The Food Confidence Framework isn’t more rules.

It’s relief, and meals you can trust without running the numbers first.

Curious? Comment or DM me RHYTHM and I’ll send you a peek inside the framework that stops you second-guessing food every single day.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj6g0rdy40jo I'm a little divided by this. Should 30 minutes walking a day be rewarded or should we be getting the rewards from the walking? Carrots and sticks have to be used so skilfully! I wonder if this could build a habit of walking or enjoying a freebie?

The "marathon a month" scheme, developed with former Olympic medallist Sir Brendan Foster, will launch early next year.
