The Nene Way footpath follows the river Nene from Badby Northamptonshire to The Wash in Lincolnshire. Having decided to walk the entire route, it was eventually planned over eight hikes. The first, in November, was from Badby to Kislingbury and the final 18 mile leg started at Guyhirn and ended at the Sir Peter Scott Lighthouse by The Wash.
All in all the weather was pretty good for the winter months but even during the times when the sky was grey, my legs were aching and my fingertips felt cold, I can honestly say that I loved every moment. For me, being outside in the company of Mother Nature with kindred souls lifts my spirits and contributes to my happiness and well-being.
