🍁 As the weather has started to cool, we've been making the most of it with some wonderful day trips!

Our residents recently enjoyed a fantastic day at Buckfast Abbey, exploring its beautiful architecture, tranquil gardens, and picturesque grounds 🌿

We also visited The Donkey Sanctuary, where everyone had a lovely time meeting the donkeys and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere 🫏

Yesterday, we were delighted to join the celebration of Ukrainian Independence and Culture at The Strand Community Centre 🇺🇦

It was a wonderful day filled with traditional music, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere. Thank you to our Ukrainian friends for sharing your culture with us and joining our community in Dawlish 💕

🥂 Claremont Manor Achievement Awards 2026 🥂

What an incredible celebration of achievement, dedication, and community spirit.

Residents, families, and staff gathered for a black-tie event in our beautiful gardens, enjoying glorious sunshine, delicious canapés, bubbles, a fun-filled photobooth, and entertainment from the brilliant comedian Tom Glover.

The evening was dedicated to recognising and celebrating the outstanding achievements of both our residents and staff, while creating meaningful moments for families to enjoy together.

It was truly heartwarming to see so many smiles, hear so much laughter, and witness new memories being made during such a special occasion.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the Achievement Awards 2026 a remarkable success. More photos can be seen in the album. 🌟

🌞🦉 Claremont Manor at Dawlish Carnival 🦉🌞

Our residents had a wonderful time taking part in the festivities during Dawlish Carnival Week.

We enjoyed exploring the stalls, soaking up the fantastic community atmosphere, and meeting some truly magnificent owls up close. Residents were fascinated by these beautiful birds and loved learning more about them during an interesting and informative owl talk.

The entertainment continued with a fantastic performance from the talented Red Rock Choir, whose music brought smiles, singing, and plenty of enjoyment throughout the afternoon.

It was a lovely opportunity for our residents to get out, connect with the local community, and experience all that Dawlish Celebrates Carnival has to offer.

A big thank you to everyone involved in making the event so enjoyable. We had a hoot! 🦉

🌊⚓ A Journey to the Titanic Wreck ⚓🌊

Residents were captivated by a truly fascinating talk from Brian Clargo, one of only around 250 people in the world to have visited the wreck of the Titanic in a submersible.

Brian shared his incredible firsthand experience of descending to the ocean floor to see the world-famous wreck, bringing the story to life through a collection of remarkable photographs, diagrams and unique souvenirs from his expedition. We were amazed by the images and loved hearing about the challenges and emotions involved in such an extraordinary journey.

The talk sparked plenty of curiosity, and there was a fantastic question-and-answer session where residents had the opportunity to learn even more about this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

A huge thank you to Brian for sharing his experiences and giving us such an insightful and unforgettable glimpse into one of history's most iconic shipwrecks.

🌟 Meet Our Home Manager - Carla Bowman, Registered Nurse 🌟

We’re delighted to introduce Carla Bowman, who has been the Home Manager at Claremont Manor Care Home since we first opened our doors in April 2024.

Carla is a highly experienced Registered Nurse with a wealth of clinical and leadership experience across both the NHS and adult social care sectors. Her nursing career began in acute healthcare, where she worked in Accident & Emergency and Intensive Care, developing a strong foundation in delivering high-quality, responsive care when it matters most.

Over the years, Carla has progressed into senior leadership roles, bringing her passion for person-centred care into care home management. She has worked with a number of respected care organisations, where she has helped build strong teams and maintain outstanding standards of care across multiple homes.

What truly sets Carla apart is her genuine dedication to the people she supports. She is passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel safe, valued and truly at home. Her focus is not only on delivering excellent care, but also on building meaningful relationships with residents, families and colleagues, ensuring everyone feels part of the Claremont Manor family.
