November is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to highlighting the challenges men face when it comes to mental health and to encouraging open conversations. Mental health affects everyone, but men often experience particular barriers to seeking help.

Goodmorning,

We have the remembrance parade in Deanshanger on 9th Nov. We are looking for 3-6 volunteers from the men’s club to steward the event to keep the parade safe on the roads. Anyone willing to volunteer please let us know?

Men’s club move to virtual

We recently posted that over the last six months we have seen the club numbers reduce further and further to where one or two people attending.

David, Steve, Arthur and Ray have had some discussion on the feedback we got on both Facebook and the WhatsApp group, it was limited. The message is unfortunately that the club in its current format is no longer needed. We have decided to allow us to keep a support network there, should it be needed, we will maintain the FB page and the WhatsApp group. This will allow you guys to reach out should you need any help. We will also post on our FB page the links for Dirk so again if you need him you can reach out. We feel having the club virtual is perhaps what’s best and we will also look at some get together as well should anyone be interested.

Just a reminder we have a men’s club meeting tonight at 7PM at the Con Club. This will be another social evening so hope you see you there.

The Mens Club is a group which was set up in Deanshanger to provide the men of the village with mental health support, a friendship club, and a monthly social venue. The club has a mental health professional available to support any issues for the needs of the men of the village.

In recent months we have seen the club numbers reduce further and further to the most recent meeting where only people running the evening were present.

So we feel we need to ask the men of Deanshanger a simple question. Do you still want Mens Club in Deanshanger, do you feel you still have a need for it and more importantly if you do can you support it?

The people organising the club would like to continue but without you it is not possible. Please can you let us know? If you do not feel the need for the club be honest and please tell us. If you feel the club is missing something you need then again please tell us. Lastly if we hear nothing but silence this will give us also an answer so please let us know?

If you do not want to send your answer to group please send a personal message to one of us.

The Man Club will be at the Conservative Club tomorrow evening for one of our new Social evenings.

Men’s Club moving temporarily to Con Club.

We are doing this to promote the social aspect while not forgetting we are here to support all the men of the village with mental health issues as well.

We help support by just being there to for each other as well as having a fully qualified counsellor with us to talk to or just beat at pool or darts 😂

As blokes I think it’s harder to make new friends the older we get so just having a night month to see new faces helps me.

On this Wednesday at the Con Club 7pm - 9pm
