Strong bones aren’t built overnight, but small habits can make a big difference.

Bone health is about more than just calcium.

Regular exercise, good nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits all play an important role in helping you stay active, independent and doing the things you love.

Whether you’re approaching menopause, living with osteoporosis or simply thinking about your future health, it’s never too early or too late to start looking after your bones.

If you’re unsure where to start, a physiotherapist can help you find safe, effective exercises that are right for you.

Your C-section scar deserves a little extra care in the heat.

As the temperature rises, sweat, friction and UV exposure can all affect how your scar feels, especially if it’s still healing.

The good news? A few simple changes can help keep your scar comfortable this summer.

Here are some tips to keep you more comfortable this summer!

And remember, if your scar feels tight, painful, numb, sensitive or simply doesn’t feel right, you don’t have to put up with it.

Scar therapy isn’t just for the early weeks after birth. Many women notice improvements months, or even years, after their C-section.

Get in touch if you are wondering if scar therapy or physiotherapy might benefit you.

Women’s health physiotherapy isn’t just about pregnancy or pelvic floor exercises.

It can support you through many of the changes your body experiences across your lifetime, from recovering after birth or surgery, to navigating menopause, improving strength, managing bladder symptoms, supporting bone health, and staying active as you get older.

You don’t have to wait until something feels “bad enough” before asking for help.

Every assessment is tailored to you, your goals and what matters most in your day to day life.

Whether your aim is to get back to running, feel more confident exercising, recover from surgery, reduce symptoms or simply move more comfortably, physiotherapy can help.

If you’re unsure whether physiotherapy is right for you, feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to chat about whether I think I can help.

Just checking in 🤍

Menopause can bring changes to bladder control, pelvic floor function, muscle strength and confidence with exercise, but symptoms such as leaking, urgency or heaviness are not simply things you have to accept.

Try not to reduce your fluids, avoid activity or plan your whole day around the nearest toilet. The right assessment and personalised physiotherapy can help you understand what is happening and support you to stay active.

Women’s health physiotherapy may include pelvic floor rehabilitation, bladder retraining, strength work and practical advice tailored to you.

Five things every new mum deserves to know 🤍

Your six week check is an important milestone, but it does not mean your body is fully recovered.

Leaking after birth is common, but it can often be improved with pelvic floor muscle training. Exercise should build gradually, and symptoms such as leaking, heaviness, bulging or pain are signs to pause and seek advice.

Tummy muscle separation is also common after pregnancy. Recovery is about rebuilding strength and control, not chasing a perfect gap measurement.

A healed C-section scar may still feel tight, numb, sensitive or restricted, and physiotherapy may help improve comfort and movement.

Recovery looks different for every mum. You do not need to wait until symptoms feel “bad enough” to ask for support.

Feel free to send me a message if you would like to know more about postnatal physiotherapy.

Every person who walks into clinic has a different story, which is why no two treatment plans are the same.

Physiotherapy isn’t just about giving everyone the same exercises. It’s about understanding what’s driving your symptoms, explaining why they’re happening, and creating a plan that’s tailored to you.

Thank you for this wonderful review. Knowing that someone felt their treatment was personalised means a great deal, and I’m so grateful to everyone who takes the time to share their experience.

If you’re wondering whether physiotherapy could help, or you’re not sure where to start, feel free to send me a message, I’m always happy to chat.

Recovery after breast surgery isn’t always as straightforward as people expect.

You may be told your surgery has healed well, but still find your shoulder feels stiff, your chest feels tight, or everyday tasks don’t feel as easy as they used to.

These experiences are common, but they can improve.

Physiotherapy after breast surgery can help improve movement, reduce tightness, support scar rehabilitation, and help you regain confidence in using your arm again.

Whether your surgery was a few months ago or several years ago, it’s never too late to seek advice if something still doesn’t feel right.

✨ Save this post for later, or share it with someone who may benefit from seeing it.

If you’d like to find out whether physiotherapy could help your recovery, feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to have a chat to help you decide if physiotherapy is the right choice for you.

Many women notice more aches and pains during perimenopause and menopause, and it’s common to assume it’s “just part of getting older.”

The reality is a little more complex.

Changes in hormone levels can affect muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints, which may contribute to increased stiffness, aches or discomfort.

While these symptoms are common, they shouldn’t automatically be dismissed as “just menopause.”

A physiotherapy assessment can help identify what’s contributing to your symptoms and create a personalised plan to help you move with more confidence. This might include strengthening exercises, improving mobility, hands on treatment, advice on managing symptoms, and helping you stay active doing the things you enjoy.

If you’ve noticed new aches and pains during perimenopause or menopause, don’t assume you just have to live with them.

📩 Feel free to send me a message if you’d like to find out how physiotherapy may be able to help.
