Wise wednesday
I learn so much from those whose stories I tell
A while ago I shared a quote which a lady used to share with her family it was this
" make time for yourself everyday , its not a should its a must"
Time for yourself can be anything for me from then I decided to just pause long enough to notice things around me just for a few minutes.

Today seems like the right time to reappear on social media after I know a fair few months at some point Ill share more but for now,
It was 16 years ago today I took my first full funeral - Doris Hobbs one legend of a lady
In that season of life I had a 2 and half year old Noah and I was 12 weeks pregnant with my youngest I can remember exactly how I felt, but also knew Doris was one of a kind so Noah stayed at home and Mummy went to work.
16 years later I still remember that day and the ones before Id been helping to officiate.

Father's day is a complicated one I know -
Today again I'm in Foston hall and I know everyone in the chapel will have different experiences and emotions. So we hold the space
And if you are feeling the gap today like so many close to me are, know this you are loved and held in the light today .

Its the start of Dying matters week - I want to share my heart pin with you it means someone close to me has been an organ donor and honestly its still feels like they took my heart, but this pin means hope to others.
So in Dying matters week tell others your wishes because every day isnt promised and honest conversations help.

If you were at the memorial service today you will have heard me speak of this quote from To kill a Mockingbird

“She lives in the soft places of memory —
in a laugh carried on a summer breeze,
in the warmth of a hand I no longer hold.
Some absence is so full,
it becomes its own kind of light.”

my hope is whoever your missing her absence may also be its own kind of light

Next saturday I'll be leading the memorial service at Trent crematorium in Derby. Mothers day is a tricky one because everyones journey is different - some miss their mums, some mums have arms which ache for children who never joined them, or even left earth before they should have, some grieve the relationships they used to have, some never knew their birth mothers and some never had an example of mum. I see you all and theres space for all to feel all they need to. So if you need space to reflect and be well heres one safe space
