🦶 Achilles heel pain stopping you in your tracks?
The Achilles tendon is the strong band of tissue connecting your calf muscles to your heel. It plays an important role when walking, running, jumping and pushing off your foot.
When the Achilles becomes irritated or overloaded, it can become painful and stiff — particularly during or after activity.
You may notice:
❌ Pain or stiffness around the back of the heel
❌ Stiffness first thing in the morning
❌ Pain when walking, running or climbing stairs
❌ Tenderness or thickening of the tendon
❌ Symptoms that worsen after exercise
Achilles tendon problems can be frustrating, particularly when they stop you doing the activities you enjoy.
At West Hallam Chiropractic, we can assess your Achilles and the factors that may be contributing to your symptoms. Treatment can include advice, exercise and rehabilitation, with shockwave therapy available where appropriate.
We use a Swiss DolorClast® shockwave machine, a market-leading system widely used in clinical research and commonly used for tendon-related conditions.
🏃 Whether you're a runner, golfer, walker or simply want to get back to being active, don't let Achilles pain keep you on the sidelines.
