No matter what your age, we all need someone who will listen, but sometimes we need someone that not only listens but can help us explore and understand difficulties we may find in our life’s. As an Accredited Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have extensive experience of working with children, young people and adults across the Derby, Nottingham a
nd surrounding areas who have experienced grief and loss, depression, anxiety, stress, bullying, trauma, attachment difficulties and self-esteem issues. My work with children and young people uses lots of play and craft activities. I have experienced extensive success in working with anxiety related disorders with children and young people with SEN, particularly ASD, ADHD, selective mutism and those with attachment difficulties. As well as my private practice, I also work as a school counsellor, and have worked in infant and junior schools across Derby. I have also been a school governor at a Derby Secondary School and have a good insight into the difficulties children and young people find in school. I also work with adults and offer a warm welcome and a comfortable, relaxing environment in which to explore what is troubling you at your own pace. As a humanistic integrative counsellor, you set the agenda, I facilitate and help you unravel whatever it is you bring to the session. I may also use ‘tools’ to help you with this such as stones, pictures, drawing.
