💉 Our Meningitis B vaccination service has got off to a fantastic start!

We’ve had a great response to the new NHS MenB vaccination programme, and due to demand we’ve now opened up more appointment slots for early August at Markeaton Pharmacy.

If you’re eligible, we recommend getting booked in early so you can complete the required course and be fully vaccinated against meningococcal group B (MenB).

✅ Who is eligible?

🔹 17–18 year olds who are eligible for the NHS MenB vaccination programme.

➡️ If you’re 17–18, please book your appointment through the NHS website.

🔹 Young adults aged 18–25 who are starting university for the first time and meet the eligibility criteria for the NHS MenB programme.

➡️ If you fall into this group, you can book directly with Markeaton Pharmacy at:

Thank you for the fantastic response to our new NHS Meningitis B (MenB) Vaccination Service at Markeaton Pharmacy!

📅 APPOINTMENT UPDATE

❌ Appointments for the week commencing 20th July are now FULLY BOOKED.

✅ We have now released NEW APPOINTMENTS for the week commencing 27th July.

👉 Please book as soon as possible to ensure you have enough time to receive both doses and be fully protected before starting university or further education this autumn.

💉 TWO DOSES ARE REQUIRED

The second dose is given at least 28 days after your first dose, so please don’t leave it too late to start your vaccination course.

💉 NEW NHS MENINGITIS B VACCINATION SERVICE 💉

We’re pleased to announce that Markeaton Pharmacy will soon be offering the new NHS Meningitis B (MenB) vaccination service to eligible young people.

Meningitis B can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness, including meningitis and sepsis.

📅 BOOKINGS OPEN MONDAY 13TH JULY

Appointments can be booked from Monday 13th July, with vaccinations beginning from Monday 20th July.

We are advising patients to check their Ramipril medication following an MHRA recall.

⚠️ Affected product:
Ramipril 2.5mg Capsules (Crescent Pharma)
Batch Number: GR155023
Expiry Date: 08/2027

A small number of packs labelled as 2.5mg may contain 10mg capsules instead.

✅ If you have this medication:
• Check the batch number on the box
• Check that the blister strips match the strength on the carton
• Do NOT take the medication if there is a mismatch
• Contact the pharmacy for advice and a replacement
