**📢 Practice Half Day Closure – Wednesday 19th August**
Dear Patients,
Please note that the practice will be closed from 1:00pm on Wednesday 19th August for staff training.
This applies to both our clinical and non-clinical teams and includes both Alvaston Surgery and Aston Surgery
If you require urgent medical assistance during this time, please contact NHS 111
The surgery will reopen as normal at 8:00am on Thursday 20th August

Important update about online consultations 🩺💻

We are now using SystmOne Connect to triage all online consultations, instead of Rapid Health.

Nothing else has changed. Where you would normally see Rapid Health and the “Book Appointment” tab on our website, this has now been replaced with “Online Requests.”

Please use Online Requests to submit your request, and our team will triage it and advise you on the most appropriate next step.

**✈️ Travelling Abroad This Summer?**

Planning a holiday? Before you travel:

✅ Check whether you need any travel vaccinations. If you're unsure, complete our **Travel Vaccination Questionnaire** on our website, and we'll advise you on what you may need.

💊 Make sure you have enough of your regular prescription medication for your trip.

⏰ Please allow the surgery plenty of time to process any vaccination or medication requests before you travel, as these cannot always be arranged at short notice.

Due to the upcoming departure of GP registrars, and while we await the arrival of new registrars, there are currently no more pre bookable routine GP appointments we can book as we are at full capacity.

We kindly ask that patients contact the practice from the week commencing 10th August to arrange non urgent pre-bookable GP appointments, and not before this time.
Please note this DOES NOT impact urgent appointments and patients who require a same day appointment should continue to use the triage system or contact the surgery on 01332 755990.

As we say goodbye to our GP Registrars over the coming week, we'd like to thank them for all their hard work, dedication, and kindness during their time with us.

They have been a valued part of our team, providing excellent care and support to our patients while continuing their training. We wish each of them every success and happiness in the next stage of their careers.

Thank you for everything, and we know you'll all go on to do amazing things. You'll be greatly missed by both our team and our patients. 💙

Junior Doctor Industrial Action (15–19 June)
We will be operating as NORMAL during the planned junior doctor industrial action from 15–19 June.
We expect little disruption to our services. However, some appointments may be affected if individual junior doctors choose to participate.
Patients SHOULD CONTINUE TO ATTEND APPOITMENTS AS PLANNED unless contacted directly by the practice.
