👶✨ When did you first feel your baby kick? ✨👶
Those first little flutters are such a magical milestone in pregnancy! 💕 But did you know that **when you feel your baby move can vary from pregnancy to pregnancy?
Most people start noticing their baby’s movements somewhere around 16–24 weeks, although there’s a lot of individual variation.
🤰 First baby?
You may not recognise those early movements straight away. At first, they can feel like little bubbles, flutters, taps or even gas! 💕 It can take a little while to realise, “That was my baby!”
👶 Second (or subsequent) baby?
You may notice movements earlier because you already know what those first little kicks feel like. Some mums say they recognise them as early as 14–16 weeks, although everyone is different.
🌸 Your placenta position can make a difference too!
With an anterior placenta (where the placenta is attached to the front wall of your uterus), it can act a little like a cushion between you and your baby. This may mean you feel those first movements later or that they initially feel softer and less distinct.
With a posterior placenta, the placenta is at the back of the uterus, so there’s less cushioning at the front, and some people may notice movements earlier.
But there’s no “right” time — every pregnancy and every baby is different. 💗
