Onychgryphosis, or claw nail, is a serious deformity of the nail - usually the big toe, but the problem can also affect the remaining nails, as in this case. The nail becomes thick, calloused, often contorted and resembles a claw. It's not just an aesthetic problem - it can cause pain, discomfort when walking, and also hinder daily care.

👣What do Thickened Toenails mean?

❌️The client arrived already experiencing severe pain while walking 🚶‍♂️👣.

📢 📍In this instance, serious complications had not yet developed; however, as the nail grew, the "spike" would have begun to embed itself, leading to redness, swelling, and inflammation. If the skin were to break in such a case, a bacterial infection could set in.

📌👣Beaked Keratosis (Bruised Cornea) is a superficial, bacterial infection of the skin of the feet caused by microorganisms (e.g. Corynebacterium), characterized by small dimples and epidermal defects, a strong, unpleasant odor and excessive sweating. It develops in a warm and humid environment, most often on soles and heels.

✔️Small, shallow cavities and craters in the epidermis (often merging into larger spots)
✔️A strong and pungent smell of sweat that resembles sulfur
✔️Burning, itching or pain when walking
✔️White or yellowish discoloration of the skin in the oppressed areas
