Acceptance is not giving up. It is the moment you stop fighting reality.
It is not resignation.
It is not deciding the person doesn't matter.
It is the moment you stop pouring your energy into trying to make someone capable of something they don't have the capacity for.
And start meeting them exactly where they are.
The dysregulated nervous system will keep trying. Keep explaining. Keep hoping.
Because uncertainty feels more survivable than the grief of accepting the truth.
The regulated nervous system understands β I cannot give someone capacity they don't have. I can only manage my own.
I can only show up with mine.
And I can only decide what I am and am not willing to accept within that.
That is not giving up.
That is the highest form of self-respect.
If this is landing β the free masterclass explains exactly what's happening in your nervous system when you can't let go of a relationship that can't give you what you need.
One hour. Free. Link in bio. π
