We are absolutely delighted to share that our wonderful gardener Ella and her husband Joe welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world this morning ๐ŸŽ€

Introducing Aja Shirley Hague ๐Ÿ’—

Aja arrived at 3:26am, weighing a healthy 7lb 7oz, and both Mum and baby are doing well. ๐ŸŒธ

Ella is a much-loved member of the Springwood family, and residents and staff alike have been eagerly awaiting this special news. We canโ€™t wait to meet little Aja and shower her with lots of love and cuddles ๐Ÿฅฐ

With the World Cup kicking off tomorrow and being hosted across the USA, Canada and Mexico ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝโšฝ, we thought weโ€™d get into the spirit of things by opening Springwood Diner for one day only! ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒญ

Residents enjoyed a taste of America with burgers, hot dogs, apple pie, key lime pie and ice cream sodas on the menu ๐Ÿจ

There was lots of excitement as we chatted about the tournament ahead, picked our teams and enjoyed some classic American favourites together ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

This morning we received some much-awaited mail at Springwood ๐Ÿ’Œ๐Ÿ’›

The infants at Monyash Primary School have kindly created a drawing for each of our residents, along with a lovely handwritten note to accompany it. Needless to say, there were lots of smiles as residents opened their envelopes and admired the artwork.

We have teamed up with the school as part of an intergenerational project, helping to build connections between our residents and local children through letters, drawings and shared experiences.

Itโ€™s wonderful to see friendships beginning to form across the generations, and these thoughtful messages certainly brightened our morning.

Itโ€™s National Salad Week, which gave us the perfect excuse to spend some time doing something many of our residents have done hundreds of times throughout their lives ๐Ÿฅ—๐Ÿ’›

This afternoon, Hilary and Pat helped prepare a fresh salad for everyoneโ€™s tea. As they chopped, mixed and chatted, there were lots of conversations about family meals, favourite foods and the meals they used to prepare at home.

One of the lovely things about life at Springwood is finding opportunities to continue enjoying everyday tasks that feel familiar and meaningful.

Looking at these smiles, weโ€™d say mission accomplished!

Music has a wonderful way of bringing people together, lifting spirits and helping us forget everything else for a little while. This morning, residents were singing along, joining in and thoroughly enjoying themselves.

We are delighted to announce that Chevin Golf Club has become the first supporter of our Summer Raffle by generously donating a round of golf for four people, worth approximately ยฃ160โ€“ยฃ200. โ›ณ

This fantastic prize will be available to win when raffle tickets go on sale from 29th June.

Our Summer Raffle is helping us create a beautiful sensory garden for our residents to enjoy โ€“ an additional outdoor space designed to promote relaxation, wellbeing and meaningful moments with family and friends.

A huge thank you to Chevin Golf Club for getting behind our project and helping us get off to a wonderful start. ๐Ÿ’š

Weโ€™re excited to be launching our Summer Raffle to help create a beautiful sensory garden for our residents to enjoy.

The garden will provide a peaceful outdoor space filled with colour, fragrance, texture and wildlife โ€“ designed to encourage relaxation, reminiscence and wellbeing, while creating lasting memories with family and friends.

๐ŸŽ Weโ€™re currently looking for donations of prizes, vouchers, gifts, experiences or services from local businesses and supporters.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Raffle tickets will be available to purchase from 29th June.

Every donation and every ticket purchased will help us create something truly special for those who call Springwood home.

The flags are going up, the sweepstake is underway, and excitement is building at Springwood! ๐Ÿ†โšฝ ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

While the FIFA World Cup officially begins next Thursday, tonight sees England take on New Zealand in a pre-tournament friendly ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ

Residents are invited to join us in the lounge to watch the match together, with drinks, snacks and plenty of football chat served throughout the evening ๐Ÿป๐Ÿฟ

Whether youโ€™re a lifelong football fan or just enjoy the atmosphere, thereโ€™s something special about watching a big game together. Weโ€™re looking forward to cheering on England and seeing how they shape up ahead of the tournament!
