💙 Celebrating our people and strengthening our communities.

A huge congratulations to Daniel Cresswell, Health Advisor and Coach, who is this month's DHU Healthcare People Excellence Award champion! 🎉

Daniel was nominated by his colleagues for his dedication, positivity, and the support he gives to both patients and those he works alongside every day.

As part of his award, Daniel has chosen to donate his £100 charity donation to Bowel Cancer UK, helping to fund research, raise awareness, and support people affected by bowel cancer.

Well done Daniel, and thank you for everything you do. Your kindness and commitment make a difference. 💙

💙 𝗣𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁

Everything we do starts with providing compassionate, safe and high-quality care. Throughout 2025/26, we've continued to innovate, improve access and bring care closer to home, ensuring more patients receive the right support, when and where they need it.

Over our next posts, we'll be highlighting some of the ways we're putting patients first, including:

🏡 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 - delivering hospital-level care safely at home.
🚗 𝗔𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿 - supporting patients in their communities while reducing unnecessary hospital visits.
🫶 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 - introducing British Sign Language interpreters, improving digital access and creating new patient pathways.
🏥 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗯𝘆 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 - successfully welcoming a new service into the DHU family.

Another Yellow heat alert for the Midlands from tomorrow morning until Tuesday evening.

Prolonged heat can make existing health conditions worse and create problems for the elderly and very young.

Take care of yourselves when you're out and about, drink plenty of water, stay out of direct sunlight where possible and keep your house cool.

As we look back on 2025/26, we're celebrating the incredible people behind every achievement.

Every statistic represents a person who needed our help - and a colleague who was there to provide it.

To everyone across DHU Healthcare, thank you for your compassion, dedication and commitment. Whether you're caring for patients on the frontline or supporting services behind the scenes, your work makes a difference every single day.

It may not have come home, but a football sweepstake organised by our very own Debbie, one of our Operations Managers, has helped raise funds for a fantastic local community group.

The World Cup sweepstake raised £32, which Debbie presented to Daniel Coleman, Club Leader of Fitness with Fun. After drawing Spain as the winning team, Debbie also donated her £25 prize money, bringing the total contribution to £57.

Fitness with Fun is a community group that helps people improve their health, wellbeing and confidence through inclusive fitness sessions, and we're delighted that the sweepstake will help support its ongoing work.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to Debbie for turning a bit of football fun into meaningful support for a local cause.

Together, it's another great example of how our colleagues continue to make a positive difference in the communities we serve.

One of our DHU 111 Health Advisors is raising awareness of a chronic condition affecting hundreds of thousands of women, including her daughter.

Endometriosis is very difficult to diagnose and manage so Joanne and her daughter, Natasha, who lives with the condition are taking on a step challenge to raise money for Endometriosis UK to help those struggling with the symptoms.

We're supporting our partners at West Midlands Fire Service by sharing a plea during what is an incredibly busy time for them.

Staffordshire and West Midlands Fire Control is currently managing multiple emergency incidents across several locations.

Please only call 999 if there is a genuine emergency where life is at risk, or there is a fire or another urgent incident requiring our crews.

Making unnecessary calls can delay our Control operators from answering people who need us most - thank you to all of them for continuing to work hard to keep our communities safe.
